TMZ: Conor on verge of misdemeanor plea deal in NYC.

Conor McGregor is one lucky scofflaw ... because TMZ Sports has learned he's on the verge of striking a deal in his New York City criminal case that will keep him in the U.S. and out of jail.

We've learned Conor's lawyer is in the final stages of negotiating a plea deal in his felony mischief case ... the case that was filed after the UFC champ unleashed his fury by hurling a dolly into a UFC bus, injuring 3 fighters. His target was UFC rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was not hurt.


Conor was charged with one count of felony criminal mischief and 3 counts of misdemeanor assault.


Sources familiar with the deal tell us, prosecutors have agreed to reduce the felony to a misdemeanor. That's hugely significant because a felony involving violence could trigger permanent deportation from the U.S.

If you have a good enough lawyer (you don't even need to be rich), you can usually get a non-serious felony pleaded down to a misdemeanor if it's your first offense.

Conor vs T Ferg. The Khabib match up just doesn't excite me.

It does but T Ferg is a special kinda crazy and the build up of Conor
fucking with him both in and out of the cage just makes me think some
crazy exciting shit is gonna pop off.

Khabib is too stoic to get me amped up for that fight

I disagree. I think Conor vs Khabib is the more compelling fight.

Ferguson has the head movement of a heavy bag and would get KO'd in minutes:

Thats a fair point. I guess I'm looking more at the idea that T Ferg is gonna snap
and do something crazy. I don't think Khabib is even gonna be bothered by Conor's
mind games whereas I expect Tony to make it interesting to say the least. lol

Khabib is also much less likely to get into a stand and wang situation which
would be fun as hell to watch.

It’s funny, I’m an unapologetic Conor fanatic but as an MMA fan I think Tony-Khabib is the most interesting stylistically. I wanted to see that go down first, while Conor closes out the Nate trilogy (at 155). Oh well, it will still be fun to see whether Conor can catch Khabib or if he will spend 5 rounds on his back.
