Judge Orders Witnesses Granted Immunity To Testify At Manafort Trial
With the criminal trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort just two days away, the judge in the case ordered the testimony of five witnesses granted immunity by special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team.U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis at a hearing Monday morning said he would unseal the documents that would reveal the identities of the immunized witnesses.

Ellis also heard arguments over Manafort’s request to delay Wednesday’s start of the trial. He said he would issue a ruling from the bench on the continuance as early as this afternoon when the hearing resumes after a short recess.

The judge had already denied Manafort’s request to move the trial to Roanoke, Virginia, to escape the widespread publicity about the case in the metro Washington area.

In the 30-minute hearing, Kevin Downing, an attorney for Manafort, argued that this team needed more time to review 120,000 pages of documents they had received in document production in the last few weeks, some as recently as last Friday.

Forty-nine thousand pages of those documents were of financial records kept by Manafort’s bookkeeping company, NKSFB, which were produced for the defense team on July 6.

The attorney representing Mueller’s team, Uzo Asonye, said that prosecutors had been under the impression that Manafort was already in possession of the financial records, and that the prosecutors had included them in the production out of an “abundance of caution.”

Asonye said that last summer, Manafort’s attorneys at the time had sorted through the financial records for documents covered by attorney-client privilege.

Downing, who took over Manafort’s defense in September 2017, revealed that Manafort’s previous law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering had not turned over the records to the new defense team. He also said that the bookkeeping company refused to give him the records unless Manafort reimbursed the company for the subpoena production, which Manafort did not do.

“Go to court and get the documents,” Ellis scolded Downing. “They belong to your client.”

“We thought we’d get them in discovery, your honor,” Downing responded. “It’s a lot cheaper.”

Tens of thousands of pages of discovery materials that Downing pointed to in requesting a delay in the trial were from devices owned by Rick Gates, Manafort’s longtime business deputy who pleaded guilty this spring and is cooperating with Mueller’s investigation.

Asonye said those materials were images from Gates’ devices and were not among the items on the government’s exhibit list. Downing said that they expected Gates to be a witness and thus the “heart” of the case, so they were entitled time to review all of the materials from his devices.

Manafort faces bank fraud and tax fraud charges related to his consulting work in the Ukraine for then-President Viktor Yanukovych and his pro-Russian Party of Regions. Manafort has pleaded not guilty to these charges and related charges in DC.

Monday’s hearing was the first time that Manafort has been seen publicly since he was thrown in jail in mid-June by the judge in the D.C. case for alleged witness tampering. He wore a forest green jumpsuit with a rumpled collar. The gray roots of his hair were visible, but his hair was tidier and his shave cleaner since the mug shot taken of him earlier this month, when he moved to a jail closer to the Alexandria courthouse.

Manafort’s trial is the first arising from special counsel Robert Mueller’s sprawling investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election, which has yielded dozens of indictments and five guilty pleas.

I'd like to see the fuzzy math needed to get that result.
Same math as always from these numbskulls. Fuck Trump + I'm with her = (insert whatever conclusion you want here).

It's amazing the mental gymnastics you see from Trump detractors on a daily basis. Still waiting for them to link Trump to the Lindbergh baby kidnapping.

It's probably pretty simple.

Without reading and just guessing I'd say that the majority of the recent job growth has been jobs paying closer to minimum wage which would then cause the average to drop.

The market generally goes up and down like this though so it's nothing really.

Just a different spin on the same numbers.

One party touts job growth and the other screams that they're low paying jobs. Vice versa.

Wouldn't it be nice to just get the news? Cold hard facts without the partisan bullshit driving the narrative?

It exists to a degree. You just have to work for it. Find the studies that the BS articles are talking referencing and read them for yourself.

And when in doubt, the more hyperbole and loud noises the less credible it is.

Bernie Sanders accuses Trump of planning to start a WAR with Iran to get RE-ELECTED
Senator Sanders quoted a tweet from the President which dates back in 2011, in which Trump claimed former President Barack Obama would start a war with Iran to extend his presidency.

Mr Sanders disagreed with the American firebrand and wrote: “No, Obama improved relations with Iran.

“Are YOU, President Trump, planning to start a war to get re-elected?”

Bernie Sanders’s remarks come less than 24 hours after the US President threatened Iran with a late-night, all capital-letter tweet.

Proud Boys Operated Fake Antifa Accounts on Facebook: Antifascist Report
From June 6 to July 18, Rose City Antifa and its allies in the Portland, Oregon area exposed multiple members of the Pacific Northwest Proud Boys (PNPB) in a six-part investigative series. In addition to doxxing “proud boys,” the investigation revealed that PNPB members created and/or purposely interacted with fake Antifa accounts on social media.

In Part 1, antifascists revealed that Proud Boy Robert Raymond Zerfing spread a malicious tweet by Laguna Beach Antifa on February 14. The tweet by @LagBeachAntifa7 falsely claimed that a Florida school shooter was linked to the antifascist movement.

In Part 4, Rose City Antifa found that Proud Boy Pete Venturo created a fake antifascist account called “Pat Robert Panicci” and even attempted to dress up as one.

According to the antifascist report, Venturo created the account “to defame activists who have been organizing to oppose the Nazis that Venturo has rallied with and repeatedly assisted in the past year.”

In Part 5, we see that several members of PNPB and “followers” of the Patriot Prayer organization were “apparently fooled by an obviously fake Antifa page” named Rose City Antifa.

Donovon Flippo, a member of PNPB, asks his friends, “Who’s down to go play some hide and seek?”
We’re not entirely sure if these rightists knew they were reacting to a fake antifascist page, but it’s likely, considering what Rose City Antifa found in Part 6.

In the last installment of their investigative series, antifascists uncovered that Proud Boy Jacob Andrew Farmer created an “Antifa satire page” named SW Washington Antifa.

According to Rose City Antifa, SW Washington Antifa was “likely” created to “fool a number of his extremely gullible friends.” It’s also probable that Farmer’s friends already knew that he operated the satire page and attacked it anyways.

@AntifaPatton is another social media account I suspect is operated by the Proud Boys.

On May 15, the account claimed Sam Hyde, an American comedian who is ironically blamed for mass shootings, was a “member of the @ProudBoysUSA” and accused them of being a “hate group.”

On May 11, @AntifaPatton continued to target the official Proud Boys Twitter account. This time, however, the organization responded by questioning Patton’s literacy.

Like we saw in the responses to Flippo and Farmer’s fake Antifa posts, Proud Boy sympathizers attacked Patton.

Furthermore, an account named Proud Boys Texas (presumably an official organizational account) tweeted a laughable screenshot of a Facebook conversation it had with “Rose City Antifa.” This occurred on July 8.

It’s hard to believe that the official Rose City Facebook page would expose itself to ridicule via Facebook Messenger, let alone engage in a conservation with a hostile rightist. Therefore, it’s more likely that the “Rose City Antifa” in this conversation is fake and located at @RoseCityAntifaNoSnitches. (See #264 in my list of fake Antifa accounts.)

So, why would the Proud Boys create then attack fake Antifa accounts on social media? There are several possible explanations for this. Proud Boys may create fake Antifa accounts and interact with them:

  1. To boost their ego and perceived machismo,
  2. To (illegitimately) amplify the notoriety of their organization,
  3. And/or to show “others” that antifascists are ridiculous and hostile. This “evidence,” in turn, may be used by the Proud Boys to internally and externally justify violent acts against antifascists during protests. “Others” may include prospective members, allies, and higher ranking Proud Boys.
The organization’s reliance on “false flag” accounts to defame their enemies and promote their own people is unique, yet many questions remain.

Trump’s Tax Cut Hasn’t Done Anything for Workers
Wages were supposed to rise. Instead, they’ve fallen.
Trump’s Tax Cut Hasn’t Done Anything for Workers

So if you add, just pulling a number out of nowhere here... 50,000 new jobs and the majority of those jobs are entry level positions. Does the AVERAGE hourly rate go up or down?

Actually, shrink it down. If you have 1 guy making $12 / hour and the company is doing well so they add another new worker at $10 / hour, your average wage rate just dropped from $12 to $11.
