20 years later we finally get a new Supra. No confirmed specs yet, but the following is rumored:

  • 3.0l Turbo I6, 335hp/369lb-ft
  • 0-60: 4.5 seconds
  • ~3300 lbs
  • ~$63.5K USD MSRP
  • Heads-up Display, Lane assist, Pre-Collision warning, Navigation, Parking assist, etc as standard.
  • Our rendered images are fairly accurate to the real car. Small details are different.
  • Side mirrors are the BMW-esque 3-series takeoffs that we all complained about, blacked out.
  • New Supra badge.
  • Grey and Red "GR" badge on rear of car.
  • Wheels are 19” two-tone split 5 spokes. Likely the ones found here:
  • Body fender “vents” are fake, both front and rear.
  • Interior is objectively quite nice:
  • Seats are black leather sports seat. Nice stitching and accents.
  • High-quality materials. Nice plastics. Lexus level quality
  • Center console has a BMW-style screen with iDrive. UI is reskinned slightly.
  • Instrument cluster is fully digital. Physical readouts flank the screen around it
  • Radio/HVAC controls similar to BMW, but separated into two separate stacks.
  • Steering wheel is standard BMW wheel with Toyota logo.
  • HVAC vents are nice, thin like newer Lexuses with a splash of chrome.
  • Overall dashboard is a good look, quality interior. Shape and style is different to Z4.
  • The auto shifter looks similar to BMW.
  • Standard iDrive controls left of the shifter.
  • Overall interior is bespoke, not the same as Z4, more sporty. But shares some switchgear.
  • The car has a Heads Up Display
  • There is a rear strut bar in brushed aluminum.

Dude they unveiled this like a year ago I swear it. I saw a video of a red one driving. Am I losing the plot here or wat?

Will get blown away in cost to performance ratio by Mustangs, Camaros, and Corvettes. Porsche Cayman S will spank it from the light sports car angle. At listed weight of 3300 lbs. it might even weigh more than my Viper.

MKIV isn't much lighter. I'm surprised they're asking that much. Won't feel right being in a Supra with digital gauges and touchscreen navigation. Not really a fan of the new look either, but we'll see how the final production model turns out.

Least exciting delayed forever release of a car I've ever followed.
This car is tracking what everyone was doing almost 10 years ago. We've moved on.

Toyota is so obsessed with "numbers don't matter" its only about driver feel. Like a big brother to the BR-Z is the goal.

Tough I want big numbers too. And I can get them in a Gt350 for the same cost as this with every bit of the driver feel.

Toyota is trying to develop a Cayman fighter but the heritage, expertise, and willingness to pay a "porsche tax" on a Supra just isn't going to be there.

Those specs suck ass. My '95 was 320hp and factory claimed 0-60 in 4.6. 23 years later this is their bullshit progress? The new supra badge better be badass!

I was gonna go test drive an 08 with twin exhaust at the back. It looked good. But the cunt had sold. I drove another one tho, it was nice but I don't like soft top cars. I liked a merc slk hardtop convertible but as cool as it was I knew I would get attention from me mates saying it's a hairdresser car

doesn't seem too impressive and it is ugly. seems way crappier than the nissan skyline but it is also half the price.
