Didn't think the first one was a robbery, I had it 7-5 for Triple G, he gave away the first 3 rounds. The Byrd scorecard was a joke, but a draw on the fight isn't out of the question. Canelo's coming in leaner, looking to be more active & to actually throw counter punches when he makes GGG miss, GGG wants to be more active, should make for a better fight than the first. Good undercard too, no Mia St John's & Butterbean's on this card. Can't wait

Byrd scorecard was so Vegas raked all unanimous decision bets regardless of other judges scoring

close fight yes but the only reason to score all those rounds for Canelo had nothing to do with the fight itself...it was corruption on a main stage...smartest bet was unanimous decision by GGG and vegas knew it

I had GGG by a few rounds so the 114-114 is possible, that scorecard is almost respectable

but Byrd got paid in the past or the future and that is obvious

that said I will watch this fight for free on saturday

I thought at best for GGG was 9-3, at best for Canelo was 7-5 GGG.
I thought 8-4 was fair, and 6-6 fair if pulling HARD for Canelo.
The analysts and sports world shared my view, that "if this fight were a boat on the ocean, it was Canelo that was the boat fighting the waves that were GGG", and a despicable decision to turn another buck.

There was no one with a trained eye with no dog in the fight that could say Canelo won that fight.
There were, that could say 3G did.

A majority draw with a card for GGG would've been the least pitiful outcome.
A straight draw was blatantly disgusting .

Now, in my view, between the bs decision & bad blood(no pun intended), this becomes that much more unmissable.
And, it's a better overall card, which it should be.

So f*** you Vegas, take my money, again, you bastards.

Controversial fight prompts Vegas refunds
  • David PurdumESPN Staff Writer
Large bets for as much as $500,000 showed up on Gennady Golovkin at Las Vegas sportsbooks in the final hours before Saturday's title fight against Canelo Alvarez. They would all have to be refunded, after a controversial decision left both bettors and bookmakers disappointed and confused.

Heading into the decision, oddsmakers believed Golovkin had won the fight. International sportsbooks had Golovkin as high as a -500 favorite when live betting on the bout closed.

But when the decision was announced, judge Adalaide Byrd had seen things differently. She had Alvarez an easy 118-110 winner, a stunning difference from the cards from judges Dave Moretti (115-113 Golovkin) and Don Trella (114-114). The fight was ruled a split draw.

Interesting
I didn't get a refund
Online/offshore action is huge and they never refund

Sounds like a few casinos in Vegas refunded some and maybe lost money, I can't really trust them to tell the truth. Caesars reports losing on the draw but for less than a mill....I bet they raked cash overall

Shady shit one way or another....thanks for link

Good fight regardless....what is your prediction?

I believe most are publicly traded companies, they'd be in deep shit if they were lying

Haven't really made one yet, leaning Canelo right now, I agree a lot with what Nazim said

fair enough...they only claimed to lose $$ on the draw bets so I think they did just fine as usual(probably just playing up that angle and the refunds to help fans make sense of the BS scorecard), those casinos don't build themselves as we know

I can't bet this fight...Big GGG fan but age will catch up to him someday and GingerMan is absolutely in his prime

Interested to see if his body is different now that he isn't eating Steriod tainted Carnitas, that angle/factor will be interesting...

GGG wasn't getting too aggressive & throwing knockout shots in the first fight, if he's true to his word about going for the KO then it's going to work out very well for one of them, just not sure who. GGG throwing harder & bending over to throw body shots leave him open for the counters, or he could just knock Canelo out or beat the hell out of him

Canelo passed the hair test for PED's beside what he got from the meat, his story's been about as vindicated as a guy caught & claiming tainted meat can be. He's leaned out & is looking for more stamina so he can be more active.

I think GGG is blowing smoke about going for the KO. He knows that if he fights the same fight again, he'll win a UD.

I'm not so sure.
I think there'll be more action for sure, I think both want it more now.
I say GGG drops him at least once.
Seems like there could be multiple knockdowns in this one.
