Why be in a bedroom with a drunk guy at a party if you don't want to get laid?

Lol

And what's the story with a lie detector test? Who asked for it? And who gave it to her?

That part is was 100% inspired by the Dems. Strictly political. "Because of the nature of this story... We need you to take a lie detector test before we can go forward with your story. It's for your own protection and credibility."

Smart move. Makes it feel dirtier but it also eliminates the arm chair Repubs that would be screaming "If it's the truth then let's see her pass a lie detector test."

*Those aren't real quotes but I can guarantee that similar statements were made

Lets also note, at the time of the lie detector she attempted to remain anonymous, even after the lie detector 'confirmed' her account of the story.

It isnt until the press gets a hold of her identity before she goes public with any of this information.

Does sound bad.
except it happened 36 years ago, it didn't come up until 6 years ago in a therapy session with her husband, she doesn't remember where or when it happened, and even if a drunk 17 year old Bret tried to assault her does that bear any relevance to HIS ENTIRE ADULT LIFE AS A JURIST.

if the Dems want to set this bar for 'fitness for public service', the backlash is going to sting.

I agree his public service record should be taken into account.

I agree it could appear questionable it took 36 years for this to come to light.

But from what I have read in the media, the accused didnt seek out the spotlight and took steps to remain anonymous. Unless this lady is a total political nut job, I dont see what she has to gain from making these claims.

Lets also acknowledge, it is not out of the norm for someone to wait decades before disclosing sexual abuse or assaults.

And again, she passed a lie detector test and can corroborate her story via notes from counseling sessions provided by her therapist.

In the interview, Ford says she never revealed what had happened to her until 2012, when she and her husband sought couples therapy.

Portions of her therapist's notes, which Ford provided to the Post, do not mention Kavanaugh by name but say Ford reported being attacked by students "from an elitist boys' school" who went on to become "highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington."

Dems like leniency for rapists and child molestors, so if one were to believe the story, wouldn't kav be a shoe-in for all voting dems?

Alumnae of girls school attended by Kavanaugh accuser circulate letter backing her

Open Letter from Holton-Arms Alumnae in Support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford

Open Letter from Holton-Arms Alumnae in Support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford
We are alumnae of Holton-Arms School, and we are writing in support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, a fellow Holton graduate.
We believe Dr. Blasey Ford and are grateful that she came forward to tell her story. It demands a thorough and independent investigation before the Senate can reasonably vote on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to a lifetime seat on the nation's highest court.

Dr. Blasey Ford's experience is all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton. Many of us are survivors ourselves.

Holton’s motto teaches students to “find a way or make one.” We dream of making a world where women are free from harassment, assault and sexual violence. We hold deep gratitude to Dr. Blasey Ford for bravely stepping forward and bringing us closer to that world we all seek.

Sincerely,

Holton Alumnae in Support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford

Sounds like Holton was prep school party and grope central.

Senate committee to hold public hearing with Kavanaugh, accuser after sexual assault allegation

Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh and the woman who has accused him of sexually assaulting her decades ago will testify publicly before the Senate on Monday, setting up a potentially dramatic and politically perilous hearing that could determine the fate of his nomination.

Republicans, including President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), remained defiant as they scrambled to protect Kavanaugh’s nomination in the wake of the allegation by Christine Blasey Ford, who told The Washington Post in an interview published Sunday that Kavanaugh drunkenly pinned her to a bed on her back, groped her and put his hand over her mouth at a house party in the early 1980s.

But by the end of the day, Senate Republicans had effectively delayed a committee vote planned for Thursday and abandoned tentative plans for the matter to be handled behind closed doors amid growing calls by members of both parties for Kavanaugh and Ford to testify publicly under oath, injecting uncertainty into the nomination.

how would anybody know what "kav" did or didn't do?

IMO any answer to that poll is disingenuine
Abstain from the vote then and tell me what you think of it all.
The conversation is already occurring though.

It's just a forum opinion poll. It has all options. You (general, not you personal) think he did or didn't do it. You have an opinion on that. You then have an opinion on whether that should or should not impact the supreme court nomination.

This is the conversation occurring across America right now and will increasingly happen next week as she and he make their case publicly and both the Senate and the American public form an opinion on...did he do it or not? Should he be stopped from becoming Supreme Court Justice or not as a result?

The poll isn't loaded. It represents a way to tally forum opinion regarding the current and upcoming result of their public cases being made.
