UFC double-champ Daniel Cormer wanted to fight Brock Lesnar right after he knocked out Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 last July. With the win over Derrick Lewis in his first title defense as heavyweight champion, this matchup would likely be Cormier’s next fight, and his last.

During the UFC 230 post-fight media scrum, Cormier is expecting the fight to take place on March 2nd at UFC 235, per the company’s first quarter schedule for 2019.

“Yup, that could be the retirement fight for old ‘DC,’” Cormier told reporters.

“That’s crazy, right? When you start to think about it. Talk about having an opportunity to go out on an all-time high. Headlining in Vegas against Brock Lesnar before I turn 40. Two weeks…

Ha, I think Cormier really has found a way to mentally move past Jon Jones, and I love it.

The UFC HW champ is baddest man on the planet until proven otherwise. Unless Jones fights at HW, he can never claim that he was at any stage the baddest man on the planet. That should help DC get over the losses that happened after he arbitrarily nearly killed himself cutting weight to fight a guy that's bigger than him anyway.

He's just setting it up. Jones wins the HW belt after DC retires....fucks a few folks up and the DC comes out of retirement for "THEE MOST ANTICIPATED FIGHT IN UFC HISTORY"

Or Jones pops again and then nevermind what I just said.

You should be his manager. He might actually believe this bullshit.

He said it “could” be the last fight. The HW division is still weak. If his buddy, Cain, doesn’t get healthy and win the belt i think we see DC come back again. Of course by this time next year he will probably have to cut to get to 265.

DC is way past Jones at this point.

DC is a 2-division champ and beloved and respected.

Jones is a steroid cheat who is disgraced many times

How is it possibly bullshit? It's literally irrefutable. If you have never fought at HW then you have never even attempted to prove that you are the best fighter on the planet.

P4P is a fantasy concocted to fool dipshits like you into thinking that midgets are somehow 'better' than HWs, when in reality they'd get fucking destroyed by the bigger men. Most other sports don't buy into this nonsense. Too small to play basketball? Tough shit.

All belts below HW are essentially meaningless. They are consolation prizes for those who are too small or, in Jon Jones' case, too scared to risk fighting the big guys (hopefully he mans up before his career is through). The HW division is the only division that truly matters.

Imagine an alien trying to wrap it's head around the fact that two people who both normally weigh roughly the same agree to engage in dangerous weight loss, sometimes leading to death, before fighting each other. It's normal to us, but only because we're all a bunch of fucking retarded apes.

Do you think that DC vs Jones at heavyweight looks any different than DC vs Jones at light-heavyweight?

If yes, how much crack have you smoked today?

I think Jones beats him again, that's why I find it so ridiculous that Jones doesn't seem interested in becoming HW champ. My problem is with Jones not fighting at HW at all.

Sure. Until he actually fights at HW, it doesn't matter.
Can you not see why I have a hard time acknowledging DC as the baddest man on the planet?

Even you've admitted that you think Jones beats him at heavyweight.

So actually doing so is necessary in your opinion (and not just knowing it would happen)?

Today I learned:

If you run from a guy you can't beat in order to win the title in the thinnest division in the sport. You're the baddest man on the planet.

The same people making these claims also try to tell you smoking pot doesn't make you a loser.

Jones has only fought a larger fighter once

DC has done it about 20 times

Size does matter, it is why they have weight classes

Jones has shown to be a beast at 205...asterisk due to rampant PED use but he is the best 205 of his era if you allow Roids

DC has fought Larger Fighters about 20 times and only lost 1

No offense but those are the facts

If Jon stays clean and starts beating down 265 monsters then he puts himself in the discussion for open weight monster...as of now he is a decorated 205er and nothing more

The LHW's and HW's walk around at the same weight outside of the HW outliers (Brock, Hunt, etc) The LHW division is redundant.

Close but the big 205ers get lean and don't put it all back come fight night...I do get what your saying...but Barnett and a lot of his 20 larger fighters have never fought 205 and likely would if they could to gain size advantage

My point is that Jon enjoys his frame advantage and it is one of his best attributes

DC has never had a Frame advantage...DC does have a Leverage advantage in clinch takedowns

I am just basically in awe that DC fights Giants...very few guys are willing to do that at 5'10"

I think Jones has been worried about moving up to fight bigger guys because he had a difficult time against larger opponents. He was in a war with Gus, who doesn't have comparable power to Heavies and even OSP made him look less impressive.

Jones has had a significant size advantage over most of his opponents and beat up a lot of aging stars. He looked absolutely phenomenal doing so but moving up to HW after DCs success isn't something that I'll think Jones is great for doing.

DC should fight Brock and retire feeling pretty good about his career. I rank DCs career over Jones.
