Trump claims he ‘never meant’ Mexico would directly pay for border wall despite repeatedly saying it

derp

"We’re going to build a wall, we’re going to build a wall. And Mexico, as sure as you’re standing here, Mexico is going to pay for the wall."
"It's an easy decision for Mexico: make a one-time payment of $5-10 billion to ensure that $24 billion continues to flow into their country year after year," the memo said.
the memo says, if and when the Mexican government protested, they would be told to pay a lump sum "to the United States to pay for the wall

Fox News' Shep Smith and Andrew Napolitano now see proof of 'collusion' between Trump's team and Russia
that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has evidence that Manafort, when he served as Trump's campaign chairman, shared internal campaign polling data with an associate believed to be a Russian intelligence asset. This is a big deal, Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano told anchor Shepard Smith on Wednesday.

"This shows that Bob Mueller can demonstrate to a court, without the testimony of Paul Manafort, that the campaign had a connection to Russian intelligence and the connection involved information going from the campaign to the Russians," Napolitano said. "The question is, was this in return for a promise of something from the Russians, and did the candidate, now the president, know about it?” That would be "a conspiracy," he added, regardless of whether the Trump campaign actually got anything of value from the Russians.

"If this is collusion — though collusion isn't a crime — this would be collusion,” Smith said. "The crime is the conspiracy, the agreement," Napolitano said. "Collusion is a nonlegal term." "I know, but if there's collusion," Smith pressed, "giving stuff to the Russians about polling data ..." "Would probably fit into that kind of a category," Napolitano agreed. The Manafort talk begins at the 4:30 mark.

Smith and Napolitano weren't the only ones bandying about the "c" word on Wednesday. Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that Manafort's inadvertent leak clearly has a "wisp" of "collusion," and the Senate Intelligence Committee's top Democrat, Mark Warner (Va.), called it "the closest we've seen yet to real, live, actual collusion." He later elaborated to CNN's Anderson Cooper, and you can watch that below. Peter Weber

Still undecided if I should take your word for it or stick with the opinion of the National Security Advisor.

ISIS may have been dealt a crippling blow but they are still enough of a concern that Bolton feels the need for American troops to stick around and continue to fight them.
Bolton readily admits that it is ‘the final remnants’ of Isis and that protecting the Kurds, as wells as countering Iran, play prominent into the decision as well. In fact, it was highlighted in every article posted, buried in the content of the story, not the sensational headline. You either didn’t read that far, or you blantently disregarded it (no idea which is worse, really!)

John Bolton contradicts Trump by saying Syria withdrawal depends on defeating Isis

Donald Trump’s national security adviser John Bolton has appeared to contradict the president by saying the planned withdrawal of US troops from Syria depends on defeating the final remnants of Isis.

“There are objectives that we want to accomplish that condition the withdrawal,” he told reporters in Jerusalem on Sunday, adding this included the defeat of Isis in Syria.“

“Mr Bolton, who is due to meet with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the coming days, said any withdrawal would rest on assurances of the safety of Kurdish people in the region. “

“Mr Bolton announced US troops would remain at the critical area of al-Tanf, in southern Syria, to counter growing Iranian activity in the region. “

Trump lies his way through a visit to the border with Mexico as he escalates his ‘emergency’ threat | The Star

The Thursday dishonesty barrage began even before Trump left Washington. He told reporters that when he had promised during his campaign that Mexico would pay for the wall, he had never said this would be a direct payment.

“Obviously I never said this, and I never meant, ‘they’re going to write out a cheque,’” he said, adding: “When I said ‘Mexico will pay for the wall,’ in front of thousands and thousands of people, obviously they’re not going to write a cheque. They are paying for the wall indirectly.”

He had not used the word “cheque” during the campaign, but he had, in fact, made clear he was talking about a direct payment. A document still on his campaign website promised he would threaten Mexico with financial harm until it made an “easy” decision: “make a one-time payment of $5-10 billion.”

Fucking con man still has his campaign website up.
