Ronda today is the same person Ronda has always been. You just have to accept it, William Morris' marketing or not. She's the greatest female fighter alive, and so far of all time. She's also a pretty trashy, low-class human being. (This comes from being raised by a total nutjob). So... yeah. Nothing new. She's going to beat the brakes off Holly Holm, do some more horrible acting in another action film, and we will all try to avoid when she says or does something else that's extremely stupid.

It's really okay, when you keep that perspective.

Another thought....are we easing into fighter bashing on here? One thing to talk about someone's fighting technique, another to call a fighter trashy and low class and her parent a nut job. That doesn't have anything to do with fighting. Is this forum going down that road?

Are you seeking a forum where we only discuss MMA in terms of matchmaking and techniques, and no commentary whatsoever on anything that takes place outside of a gym? Because you're posting in a thread where we discuss Ronda dating an alleged wife-beater after criticizing a convicted wife-beater. If you believe this sort of thread should not exist, and the mods agree with you, then okay. Because this is exactly that sort of thread. I'll put it like this. If I was Schaub I'd keep my mouth shut about the private life of the champ who was my ex not because she's so wonderful or holy, but out out of stubborn regard for myself and my own athletic accomplishments. So as not to taint myself with possible accusations of sour grapes. To not give her or anyone else the satisfaction of seeing me got to. Dignity, discretion, strength, stoicism, whatever you want to call it. Pride. That he doesn't do that comes off, to me, unseemly, suspect and embarrassing. I'd feel the same way if it was a female talking about a male.

Further to that, if I held anyone whose talents I admire to the standards of people I'd actually want in my life, I'd watch no fights, listen to no music, read no books and enjoy no films. Is it really a cop out to have to delineate this way? What's the alternative?

Calling out and insulting fighters that are outside of her division without provocation is pretty crappy (Cyborg and Caraway).

Not at all, but is there a reason to call a fighter "trashy and low class" and her mother a nut job other than you don't like them? I can live with a little discussion about personal life and other stuff that is going on in the news. But to just baselessly call a fighter trashy and low class, then insult her mother.....yea, that to me belongs on the "other" forum. What does it add to the conversation? there are ways to discuss things without being so much of an asshole.

First off, there is no proof he assaulted her. Secondly, whether he did or didn't, she made a serious claim against him. Does that sound like a happy home?
