What are you studying in school? Sociology as an elective tells me you are taking a bachelor of arts program, question is, what is your major?

I own my own home, have no children, and both my vehicles are paid off.

Have you ever worked 150 feet in the air in -35 degree weather (not including wind chill) while working with stainless steel, gusto? I doubt you would last for a single shift, and even if you did, guys like me would make your life a living hell.

Congrats.

I also own my own home. Own as in paid off in full. Assessed at $450k this year. Both vehicles paid off, zero debt and a kid on the way.

I dont need to work 150 feet in the air in -35 degree weather to have achieved what I have accomplished above. Some people do it with their brains while other do it with their hands.
