it looks WEAK!

If they ever actually have the audacity to try and defend their 2nd Amendment RIGHT to Bear Arms then NO WAY are they going to do it with GranPa's Hunting rifle.

Why not JUST BE BOLD like a REAL AMERICAN and say "It's My RIGHT to own a ASSAULT WEAPON" and then challenge BIG GOV to "come and get it"?
as a matter of historical accuracy, the North Vietnamese and Afghani militias defeated the two most powerful nations in the history of the world using "GranPa's Hunting Rifle" - bolt action, centerfire rifles with open sights.

The U.S. made and supplied stinger was the primary weapon used by Afghani mujahedeen to defeat the Soviets

the Mujahadeen were winning the war of attrition against the Soviets. The US sold Stingers to defeat their enemy by proxy, once the US was sure that the investment would pay off.

The enemies of the US would read from the same playbook. And the US has many many enemies.

Google "why you mad tho?"
it hurts my feelings that you think I can't get my hands around something big black and hard without walking in to a gun store.

I am an attractive man, and you should recognize that in your forthcoming apology.

Most analysts agree that the stinger (and not a bolt action, centerfire rifle with an open sight) was the primary weapon that forced the Soviets to withdraw from Afghanistan.

they made liberal use of the BadGuy version of the AR15, the AK47, as I have keenly observed in historical 1980s film productions

Where do you think they procured those weapons?

The Soviets gave them to their sycophants, who the Mujahadeen then killed and took the weapon

The Soviet-Afghan War was a civil war between the urban and rural citizens. The Soviets installed their leader in the capital, and commenced to wage war on the rural communities. Almost exclusively, the rural militias were armed with bolt-action rifles left over from WWII. They also used the Jezail extensively - literally, a fucking muzzloader out of the 1800s.

The Soviets planned to put down the rural uprisings in a year, and begin their withdrawal immediately after (sound familiar?).

It wasn't until the halfway through the conflict, when the muzzloading/bolt action rifles of the Mujaheddin had fought the Soviets to a stalemate that the US starting smuggling M16s, ATRs, and Stingers in to Afghanistan to tip the tide against the Soviets.

not true, although portrayed that way in the Western media. We accelerated the Soviet defeat, but they would have been defeated eventually.

Just like we'll be defeated eventually.

A revolution doesn't have to win, it just has to keep going until the other side quits.

I enjoy a good story and it all began when I read that book "Born to Run" where my curious cranium began to itch when it smelled a BIG FISH when these romancers began telling about RUNNING 100 miles or more without mention of WALKING!

I'm sure Mr. Lewis and Clarks did a bit of hot-stepping when the need arose but even when they got carried away with their drink they never claimed they RAN the complete distance of the USA!

I agree that it is a splendid read, highly entertaining, and the good story telling may inspire a Husky fellow to put down the DUMBbell a day or two and get outside for a breath of fresh air and a walk in the natural elements :D Life changing indeed!

and I would rather enjoy to read of your own life-changing experience if you wish to share?

I started running again(used to be an active athlete and it got me going again as far as running was concerned) and got rid of almost all my shoes with raised heels...I only buy zero heel shoes now(except for a pair of steel toed boots for work)...ditching the heels got rid of shin splints and almost all of my leg/back pain that running would cause me...now I hike in shoes with zero heel(vibrate five fingers usually)

gotta start slow if you ditch the heel...the angles of your entire gait and body will be different

FYI Caballo Blanco passed away a few years back RIP
