Warren Buffett bashes gold, says the 'magical metal was no match for the American mettle'
It's no secret that Warren Buffett doesn't like gold as an investment.
The legendary investor used an example in his 2018 letter to drive home his point about the importance of not panicking and investing in stocks over gold for the long run.
Buffett highlighted the 40,000% surge in the US's national debt over the last 77 years, and said if you "panicked at the prospects of runaway deficits and a worthless currency" and bought 3.25 ounces of gold with your $114.75 (the amount Buffett invested when he purchased his first shares of stock in 1942) it would be worth about $4,200, or "less than 1% of what would have been realized from a simple unmanaged investment in American business."
At Berkshire's 2018 annual meeting, Buffett compared $10,000 invested in stocks and gold in 1942 (the first year he invested in stocks). That money invested in an S&P 500 index fund (there were none at the time, he noted) would've been worth $51 million in 2018 while a gold investment would've been worth only $400,000.
"In other words, for every dollar you could have made in American business, you'd have less than a penny of gain by buying into a store of value which people tell you to run to every time you get scared by the headlines," he said.------

Just picked up a Glock 48 Slim for 500 bucks earlier this week - great for conceal and carry had a sweet little clip attached to it so I can slide it onto my pants and hold firmly no problem.
Every citizen should have a gun - don’t rely on the Goooberment to protect you in a time of need.which do you believe to be a higher probability scenario playing out:
that $500 spent on another gun saves you from the collapse of civilization and/or criminal menace
or
that $500 is invested and helps you to survive the financial needs and declining health of old age and to enjoy not living in poverty and destitution in your Golden Years? Suffering sucks.....Suffering in POVERTY sucks more
what good is $$$ if it all goes in the shitter bro?which do you believe to be a higher probability scenario playing out:

I would suggest both if you can
Planning ahead is planning ahead
digital money is cool but it can be unplugged at anytime
when AI reaches a certain point the peasants become expendablewe have to place our bets in life and since most of us are not born a SilverSpooned Trustafarian then we must gamble on which RISK we think to be of highest probability to defend against and I am betting that it does not play out like preppers believe it will and so I will deploy my limited peasant class resources to capital growth to improve my position.
I hope no one will misread my intentions which are of good nature. With gratitude I am thankful for good fellowship and community and so my contribution is to share my knowledge with those wiling to take note so that they may benefit.......of course I could be wrong but I really think if there is some complete social collapse then it still won't be like how preppers imagine and something completely different and their guns or my investments still won't matter anyway......
but I believe the higher statistical probability is that things don't go south and my strategy will best prepare me for that eventuality.....
and the final possibility is RAPID technological evolution which completely changes our human social experience and AI will make our guns/money unnecessary and obsolete as we enjoy our 3d printed houses, foods, and AI girlfriends
when AI reaches a certain point the peasants become expendable
That is my prediction
Not at all sure of the timeline but that seems logical to me
By all means enjoy the moment and look to the future
