OK but what exactly does 'scientifically literate' mean then?
If we are to be skeptical at all of self-imposed scientific authorities, then what is left that we can really 'know', or be 'literate' about? How much of what we consider to be 'scientifically literacy' is nothing more than believing what we're told by Rockefeller encyclopedias, Hollywood versions of reality/history, and corrupt-government-designed curriculums? It really does get a bit crazy when we start to weigh how much we actually know for ourselves via direct experience & observation vs simply believing we've been told. I think this is where FEers lose their minds, they perceive so many lies from high places that they feel the need to throw everything out and start from absolute scratch, and this is for sure wildly disorienting.
I do think its cool that you guys actually get your equipment out and study astronomy for yourselves, in this aspect you are miles ahead of the FE'ers. I haven't heard any explanations yet for the observed predictable motions of planetary bodies in the FE model.
One part of FE lore that I did find interesting however was that the 'Pale Blue Dot'/size relativity does make us seem completely insignificant in the bigger picture. While this may be true, the philisophical results of of our own collective self view of humanity etc does take a massive 180 as a result. The FE'ers claim its a psychological trick to rob us of our self-value and awe of this spectacular and sacred world we live in/on, to make us morally relative, to not give a shit about ourselves and continue down an atheist mindset... a FE model for example would do the exact opposite, make us the center of something absolutely divine and worth honoring. (or am I wrong? does the pale blue dot perhaps give some folk an ever bigger appreciation for creation/divine beauty/human value?)
While again I must repeat I'm not a FEer, I do think this shift of self-perception as a result of geocentric to heliocentric model is worth pondering.
I have some limited experience with telescopes, I remember being blown away at how amazingly sharp/in focus the MOON looked through even a modest telescope. It looked like it was right there very close to us in perfect focus. Bizarre

When I say Scientifically literate I mean having the ability to understand the scientific process
and command it enough to do basic research and test ideas.
Example - You will often hear FE'rs say "I have a Theory why XYZ standard model is wrong"
or I have a Theory why the Earth is Flat
That mere statement demonstrates that they not only don't have a theory they
literally do not even know what a theory is. A theory is among the highest form of
substantiated, verfiable and testable evidence.
A theory is peer reviewed. Tested over and over and demonstrated to predict the correct
answers over and over... and 3rd parties must also be able to take your theory and test
it and have it produce the same results that you produced.
Most FEr's don't even understand the difference between a Theory and a completely
untested Hypothesis or idea.
When I hear stuff like that there is no use even engaging them. Its a waste of
time. They are not scientifically literate enough to even engage
I could go on and on with examples where they demonstrate zero working knowledge of science.
As far as the Pale Blue Dot... I think its a matter of one's perspective.

For some people it offends their religious beliefs and makes them feel small

I did look into and I'm still a bit skeptical about chemtrails however.
Researchers actually have nanobots that they can inject into your blood stream so
at least some of that argument is plausible. Couple that with the fact the government
