Amazing that the reporter is going all triggered and the comic is defending with mental illness.

Meanwhile our PM is under fire for 5 hours and basically the CBC doesn't care.

The CBC needs to go.

For as much as I thought it was shitty of the comedian to do, assault with a tongue?
The reporter is saying it's assault.

The comic is defending by saying he needs help with his mental health issues.

It's like a weird check mate in social justice/virtue signalling world.

What do you think the charges would be if you went and licked a hot female reporters ear in the same way live on air?

You would have to plea down to that and hope you got lucky

For sure if the reporter was female there would be bigger issues. Can a man get charged with sexual assault on another man? I’d assume so.

This guy is a regular on many CBC shows and tv.

This will kill his career with the CBC.

Who licker or the licked?
The licker.

This could have been handled better.

The reporter could have made light of this and shoved the guy aside while reporting and then waited to deal with him personally after the camera is off.

I think that these days people veer off into being a victim and want other people to solve their issues rather than deal with the issue themselves.

I personally think the reporter should be commended for.holding his professional attitude, and I like to think he did it because he knew the cameras were rolling and he wouldnt get away with smacking this guy about. He took the more tactful path of letting him dig his own dumbass grave.

If I was him I would've acted more scared and maybe started crying to really fuck the idiot and teach him how a real prankster does shit

Sure he was a pro, and I think he actually could have played it off as something silly or weird and kept the guy away from him. A stiff arm holding the guy at bay would have sufficed too.

Not sure I would report the guy to the police but the comic claiming mental health issues is going to deal with that. Even if he gets some charges and an attempt to blackball he'll play it out like he's being discriminated against for mental health issues.

This is a nothing article being reported by the CBC when HUGE Canadian politics broke on the same day of major consequences. It shows what a joke the CBC is...again.

I don't give a fuck about the last bit I'm more concerned that you keep somehow saying the model pro should have accommodated this dipshit in some way to make light of the fact he was licking his ear. As if somehow hes at fault for this

I have never said that the guy who had his ear licked is responsible for this at all. He isn't. He's there doing a job.

I'm saying that this could have been handled better after the event. Going to right to the idea of being a victim, for me in this case, seems to be a mentality that I think it wrong with a lot of people these days.

I am also saying that I personally would have done something different. That's why we discuss this on a chat board. For different opinions.

As far as the issue you don't care about, I do. It's a issue that is paramount to the person who is supposed to be running my nation. Reporting on this, well, report, is silly when you have a far more pressing national issue. Does the CBC have nothing better to do that virtue signal and report on a reporter? They are not the news, they are to be reporting the news. However, their bias is terrible and I would call for an end to their subsidy by the Canadian people.

Well, that is an option. Of course in Canada there is a threshold to overcome and at some point some prosecutor will have to look at it and see if charges are appropriate. Based on a reasonable interpretation, did the man mean to threaten the reporter? Was there reasonable threat to person or violence? What was the intent of the person creating the action?

This may not even make it to court. If he is claiming that this is a result of mental health issues the optics look terrible for the reporter and the CBC. They would be going after someone who claims they have mental illness and that would damage their reputation. (Well, if they had a decent one, as it is, we all know the CBC is not known as professional, which probably plays into why this guy did this, but I digress) Canada has a specific adult therapeutic court for persons with identified mental illness with a separate set of consequences as well that would look at what the best outcome for the person(s) involved and the community would be. Who knows where it would go?

So sure, you could have gone to the police. That would be an option. It's not an option that in my opinion would be worthwhile or emotionally strong to do.

But this is a message board, and we are all entitled to our own opinions. Yours and mine differ.

From what I gather saying you have mental illness is basically a get out of jail free card / pass to do whatever you like in Canada without repercussions?
