Herb called this fight correct. He let it continue while Ben was still in it and he stopped it when Robbie was no longer defending himself? Intelligently.

About time somebody took a point from Jones
There have been a few fights where a lot of money was riding on the table and the UFC was obviously heavily invested in a certain fighter where Herb’s reffing all of a sudden became very inconsistent - so in some fights I too have suspected he has been bought and paid for ...
But last night was just an honest mistake (IMO). Watching live and seeing the way Robbie’s arm dropped - immediately I was thinking “stop the fight! He’s out!” ..only after seeing Robbie instantly hop up like wtf did I second guess Herbs stoppage..then after watching the replay I noticed after Robbie’s arm dropped he also gave a thumbs up.
Due to the positioning of Ben Robbie obviously could not verbally say he was fine, also I believe Robbie didn’t want to make any big movements because it may adjust Bens position and enable Ben to lock up the choke.
I do think Herb is a paid company man that receives extra money under the table on occasions but he was just in a bad spot last night that probably 98% of refs would have made the same mistake.

It is a tough job, and I still think he is one of the better ones. I would much prefer his mistake with Robbie over how Goddard was separating Usman/Woodley when they were battling against the fence. At least with the Robbie stoppage, it appeared his arm went limp. The other situation took away a fighter's advantage just because ignorant just bleed fans were booing.
