It doesn't say that.
Yes, you are correct...I thought they were backing a tweet I saw...fake news

says he likely didn't have cameras on him LOL...that is even worse than them going out conveniently

#1 prisoner in america didn't have cameras on him and had sleepy guards skipping their check ins...truth is stranger than fiction, if that is the truth

This is getting ripe

I looked at the original tweet there earlier today claiming the camera's malfunctioned. The guy has no evidence or a source. He just says it out of nowhere. More misinformation.

People are quite comfortable passing it on.

What is your go to reliable news source?

no cameras on him?
seems convenient to me

Guards missing watch on the #1 witness in the USA?

what say you

If he really was off suicide watch with lazy guards and no cameras on him in a cell with the means to hang himself then somebody got some splaining to do

I still say bury him at sea

There's not evidence to that.
Two different sources suggest two different wings that he was staying in recently.
I've also read two different sources of suggesting different timelines of when he was little suicide watch... One says three days ago and one says about 11 days ago.

In one wing he would not have cameras on him in his cell. there are cameras in the hallway and above the doors to monitor who is going in and out of the cell.
He cannot be murdered in that case either, without video.

In another wing cameras are in the cells as well. In that case it would be very interesting to know who is monitoring this cameras.

There's not a reliable source of where he was at in the news right now.

Regardless, I would factor in quite clearly that somebody would only need about 2 minutes to kill themselves regardless of location. Bed sheet anchor and around the neck would take very little time. Unconscious in less than 90 seconds.

The new says there are 760-something inmates there.
I don't know how many cameras there are total or how many people look at them. But I bet there are a lot of them. And I bet they rotate some views in a pattern because you simply can't have hundreds of screens for even a dozen people to look at all at once with any efficiency.

Regardless only about 2 minutes needed.
Then somebody sees the screen, calls for help. What do you think for those locked doors and corridors at night? A minute? 2 minutes?

So now we are at three or four minutes in some sort of perfect world.
I have no problem believing cardiac arrest occurred that quickly from asphyxiation in a 66-year-old.
Guards do a half ass assessment because they're not medical.
The call for medical whoever that is. Nurse? Paramedic? Probably not a doctor but maybe.
After a minute they start basic life support that they're all trained in but all really bad at. That's the nature of not being a first responder and trying to do first aid. Nobody's really good at it.

Somewhere around minute five in a perfect world the guards are doing bad chest compressions. I wonder if anybody would actually do mouth to mouth on him. But it's no matter because chest compressions are the main thing that matter.

Let's assume some paramedics are in house for this large facility. let's also give them the benefit of the doubt that it only takes them 2 to 3 minutes to get there, Even at night where they would probably be asleep in a call room.
Somewhere around minute at 8 people who actually know how to intervene show up with some tools like airway and an AED.

Patients aspirate on their food in the hospital and die in less than time than this.

So him dying from asphyxiation doesn't surprise me at all. having cameras and guards and all of that still leaves plenty of time even in perfect world. If you're not on suicide watch it's easy to kill yourself.

So my mind the only questions are:

- was it normal for him to come off suicide watch? There seems plenty of evidence it was normal due to the intensity of staffing for it. There are very specific protocols so those will get reviewed.

- were the cameras and guard rotations the same for him as the other 700+ inmates? We don't know yet because we don't know which wing he was in. Even without cameras in the cell and without somebody watching the cameras close enough the cameras are still recording. There's tape to review throughout the facility.

- now I will throw in the medical problem with the case to give you something to chew on...
The picture I saw with paramedics rolling him on a stretcher reports that that was on the way into the hospital. dead bodies are usually in a bag or with a sheet over them when leaving so I trust that's true.
He has no airway and The paramedics are not performing any sort of advanced Life support.
I have never been anywhere paramedics are not required to take somebody and perform advanced life support until they get them to definitive care.

Thus, either their jurisdiction has different rules in the medical director told them to call off their interventions because they have been doing them for some period of time without success in regaining pulse. Or there was a doctor on the site And after intervention somebody called off the code. Or they did intervene and Epstein had a pulse and was brought to the hospital with a beating heart and spontaneous breathing, only to die at the hospital. But the last point seems highly unlikely because we don't breath through a closed mouth in medical distress and there's no oxygen on or anything else.

Regardless any interventions medically are recorded and documented it'll be interesting to see those timelines.

I can easily imagine guards making rounds and somebody killing themselves before they're checked on again. If no physician is on site I have a hard time imagining a scenario which he is not provided advanced life support all the way until he reaches the emergency department.

Fair enough...some great medical info and some interesting speculation

Just seems convenient for him to not be in some sort of super surveillance cell...at least that is my take

Will be interesting to see what settles out as the official story.

I heard they were trying to save him all the way until the hospital but he looked unattended to in the only photo I have seen.

I don't expect to get all of the actual facts about this. Smells funky to me though.

Never been in a prison or jail, assumed there was constant cameras monitoring most of each cell at all times nowadays(maybe not the toilets? Haha)...Seen some people talking about cameras everywhere in most prisons let alone that one, but that is speculation of course.

I don't have one. I know they're not reliable because multiple large names are saying opposite things.

no cameras on him?
seems convenient to me

There are not cameras on 650 out of 700 some odd inmates there. again he may or may not have had cameras on him it depends on the wing. You don't know which wing he was in.

Guards missing watch on the #1 witness in the USA?

what say you
There's no evidence that guards missed watch.
If they're making 15 minute rotations, which is one example given in a news article of standard protocols and other facilities, there's still enough time to kill yourself.

If he really was off suicide watch with lazy guards and no cameras on him in a cell with the means to hang himself then somebody got some splaining to do

All sources say he was off suicide watch.
There's not enough additional data to know if that is weird or not.

There's no evidence of lazy guards.

There's no evidence of malfunctioning cameras.

All of that is just muddying the waters.

Before Jail Suicide, Jeffrey Epstein Was Left Alone and Not Closely Monitored

The law-enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation said that when the decision was made to remove Mr. Epstein from suicide watch, the jail informed the Justice Department that Mr. Epstein would have a cellmate and that a guard “would look into his cell” every 30 minutes.

But that was apparently not done, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the death was still under investigation.

If he was to have a cell mate there won't be cameras inside. The cameras inside are in his previous cell that is supermax hell with no interaction.

Also 30 minute rotations presumably not 15. And may not have been done. There's your lazy night shift Rambo John J @Outlaw Shit

Epstein tried to kill himself once and then tried again... and succeeded.

Or...

Inside of a month, video for a dozen cameras in a 700 bed facility were hacked and the video looped. While the video was looped, agents swarmed his cell strangling him and leaving him hanging from an anchor, before relocking the door. They did this bypassing all the guards on the way in and out. They hit the button to undo the loop as they sped way in their windowless black van. These were real Gs that moved in silence (like lasagna). Smith walked out the front door casually in his janitor uniform for a smoke break, as he had done for the last two weeks...playing the new hire. He was picked up 3 blocks away without notice.
