I imagine with winds that powerful it can reshape the coast and waterfront as it blows offshore on the backsides(wind wise) of islands and landmasses high enough to stop the storm surge
I thought the longer the hurricane is in the water the stronger it gets but it seems like it's getting weaker eventhough it's just lingering in the ocean...
what i heard is when the hurricane is cat 4/5 it can blow so hard that it is actually picking up the top layer of ocean and blowing it away causing colder water from deeper to rise to the top causing a cooling effect. i dont know shit though. everything i know about hurricanes i learned in the last 24 hours
