Even cat 4 or cat 5 won't pull up the cold ocean water if they're moving. They would just pull up the top layers of ocean water, which are warm.
The problem with this storm has been that it hasn't moved. And because it was so powerful it started pulling up the deeper, colder waters

a couple miles NW from where it was yesterday. it stalled over grand bahama island for 10 hours and didnt move an inch last night

As of 1 p.m. the National Hurricane Center said Dorian's maximum sustained winds had decreased to near 110 mph. It is moving northwest at 3 mph. Which means yes, it's heading our way as of right now though they're expecting it to turn N/NE before it has a chance to make landfall on the FL peninsula.
Mrs Beard and I spent a week in Freeport a few years ago. It's a shame to see the pictures from yesterday.
