The first three episodes were good but the last few have not been for me. The last one was brutal.
It's easy to write a good beginning to a story.
Much harder to write a good ending.
Even harder to not make a mess of the middle.
All they've done so far is a beginning.
There's no middle really. Definitely no end in sight.
Each episode is self contained. There's no story arc to the season. Aside from the first two, maybe three you don't even have to watch the episodes in order.
I'll keep watching because I love Star Wars and The Mandalorian himself is good.
They must have some idea where the story is going, it's a big show I'm sure they've planned it out. I'm on Ep 4, and its still fun but no idea where the story is going at this point, just lost a lot of steam and direction

On the other hand, the latest Star Wars trilogy really appears to have been written film-by-film with no clear path making it up as they go. That to me is insane. Such a huge franchise, and they scramble it together without a map? I just don't get it. The ONLY way to do a new Star Wars trilogy is to plan the fuck out of it and make sure the whole story is amazing and air tight before you even start. Even Lucas in the prequels knew exactly where he was going and all the main character arcs in check.
I wonder how many TV shows just start with a cool premise and a strong first couple of episodes (or even a whole season) and then have no idea what to do with it and just make shit up from then on as long as it stays popular

I think the problem is too many people involved. Disney vs Lucasfilm vs the film's crew.
I thoroughly enjoy the originals and the sequels but I struggle to find a reason to rewatch the prequels and Vader is one of my all-time favourite characters.
To me they fumbled them.
For a lead role? No.
I thought she was a decent secondary character. Especially for a Star War. You don't really need high caliber acting.
I hated the prequels too but they are better than this new trilogy.
Force Awakens was off to a fun start but Last Jedi took a big stinking dump all over the whole franchise. What a total disgrace. The more I really think about it the more I am convinced you really couldn't make a worse Episode 8. Like a fucking child wrote it and didn't bother to edit lol

Prequels were done badly but the STORY is still strong and fun to follow. The basic Canon and history behind A New Hope is part of the mythology imo. This new stuff is just prostitution lol
What is your issue with Luke in Last Jedi?
Aside from the Rose/Finn story I enjoyed Last Jedi.

You know what would make this new Star Wars trilogy A-MAZ-ING??? A graphically explicit scene of Luke milking an alien's genitals, but the genitals look just like female breasts! We get right up close to the alien's nutsack, and see Luke squishing and prodding it. Kids will love it and it will really move the plot along and offer the fans some real magic to dream about. Oh, and the alien's face should look like an infected foreskin. Budget is not an issue.
