in NYC it was because every one is in close proximity in albany,GA it was due to their cookout culture lots of people were meeting in large groups. in CA we don't have many cases because our population is not that dense it is spread out even in big cities this is why we drive everywhere in L.A.

It was because our fearless leaders were thinking all of this was a hoax put on by the democrats to weaken his chances at the polls. Then it was just the flu and it would go away. Then it was only 15 cases and in 2 weeks it will be 0. By the time these folks started taking it seriously, it was too late.

My boss is convinced this is all a hoax. He says their is no threat and all this was done to take away our civil liberties and keeps talking about the Christian Apocalypse. He's also in his 60's, has diabetes and is going to church Sunday (since our mayor has not shut them down). Nice knowing him. He was a nice guy. Maybe I'll get a promotion in a couple of months.
It is completely unclear at this time why young children and particularly infants seem so resistant to COVID-19, when they are so susceptible to viral respiratory infections in general- particularly RSV. When I first learned that this Coronavirus was spreading, I feared it would be devastating on the NICU/NICU graduates, children with CF, and my patients with complex congenital heart disease (particularly single ventricles). So far- there are zero reports of adverse outcomes in the congenital heart disease population. Hopefully that continues.6-week-old baby has died from Corona virus. This is a paradigm shift as this will be the youngest that has died from this virus. There were no deaths under 9 for quite a while and I think there have only been a couple deaths under the age 9 at this point. I think they were all reported as babies.@SC MMA MD might be a little more up to date on these numbers as he deals with a lot of pediatrics
I don’t know any details about the baby who died, but it is probably a case of the baby being really unlucky since that age group is so significantly under-represented in the morbidity and mortality statistics.
