I also know one guy who had it recently, an ambulance paramedic friend of mine. He was on oxygen for five days but no respirator. Says it was bad but nowhere near life threatening.

It is weird how many people have experienced recent anomalies. I got properly sick with bad flu-like symptoms for the first time as an adult in December while travelling interstate. Lasted 3 weeks. I've never had anything beyond very mild colds since I was a child.
