So the media is supposed to pretend that Trump isn't constantly talking about this drug?

Trump is the most powerful person on the planet. You can't do a serious story on people getting sick from hydroxychloroquine and not mention Trump. It's absolutely relevant to the story.

If Trump wants to go all in on hydroxychloroquine, then he will get blamed for the negative consequences. Nobody is forcing him to talk up an unproven drug like a carnival barker.
He gets asked about it at every single presser.
Is he supposed to "No comment" everything?

Then why include him in the title?

Because he won’t stop talking about it being a cure... the public should be informed about the real risks and benefits.

The info known since 1955 does not accurately provide this needed info as much as actual trials on covid patients does.

Do you want to rely on semi relevant information and the endorsement of a non medical professional or would you like current, relevant information about covid use of the drug?

The medical profession don't use drugs that are not clinically proven.

It's happened before.

And it didn't work out well.

Check out various miraculous aids cures and thalidomide

Every drug comes with side effects.
Fox News medical correspondent claims hydroxychloroquine cured his 96-year-old father of coronavirus
He had shortness of breath and thought he is gonna die , but after giving him HC he was fine the next day.

'Wow': Fox News medical correspondent claims hydroxychloroquine cured his 96-year-old father of coronavirus
My dad was cured of the flu because he ate a ham sandwich. He had the flu, and I saw him eat a ham sandwich, and then a few days later he didn't have the flu any more. So it must have been the ham sandwich that cured him.

That's how science works - a single unproven anecdote.

To be completely fair...
correlation does not imply causation

It's possible his father would have gotten better on his own without the drug.

That's why drug trials take YEARS to get approval.

But many of these people don't have years.

He's supposed to answer like a non-retard. He could just answer the question the same way Dr. Fauci answers it when he gets asked about it.

Since Trump started touting it as the next cure ... vast resources have been relocated to study it instead of other drugs.. Pre Trump endorsement, 1 in 10 studies focused on it, since Trumps support, that number has grown to 1 in 3 studies focusing on it.

Let's be honest...Trump is hardly a beacon of truth during any of his speeches.
He tends to embellish and overly focus on the positive, but it's not like he has the political market cornered in that regard.

Mentioning the side effects of the drug would be fine, but probably best left to Dr Fauci.

or he started touting it because he knew that was the direction research was going. Any of the researchers Rogan has had on the podcast have all said that repurposing a drug is a great first option because of how much easier it is than developing a new drug from scratch.

Don't forget about the scarcity of the drug for folks using it long before Covid-19 came around.
Some people definitely need it to stay alive. 'Rona folks might need it to stay alive.

I hope the doctors that targeted this drug as a possible solution are right. I'm sure you are too.

I think there are a lot of people hoping it doesn't pan out so that they can gloat about how much of a moron Trump is.

Please give a better example.
If something is working then its working, sides or no sides.
There is no other option.

You expect Trump to give a professional, educated response to a question in a field he knows absolutely nothing about?

In a perfect world, he hands all those questions off to Fauci.
But Trump's ego won't allow that. He's going to want to talk about anything that can be conceived as a possible win during this time.

Trump is simultaneously a stable genius who can fix all of the world's problems and someone whose words have no impact on anything when he says stupid and dangerous shit. He is all-powerful when convenient, and powerless when convenient.

We talking Boar's Head? Like a Black Forest Ham?
Gonna need to know the type of bread. And also the condiments used.

Let's cure the world, bro.

Sad, isn't it?
There are other words that seem more accurate.

I'm watching people cheer against a cure for a terrible illness, and people relishing an economic collapse. People's personal opinions of whichever potlicians aside, there are a lot of people showing their true (selfish) colors.

If you're talking like prosciutto with a nice slice of provolone and a real grainy mustard. Well, I'm pretty sure that cures most things.

Trump is pushing this as the cure because that is the only hope he has to come out of this unscathed. This is a Hail Mary effort due to the fact America has this drug stockpiled.
