So what type of camping? Alone? Kids? tent/trailer? Psychedelics?
Alone with a tent. After the first trial run I will bring my 16 year old son. But it's mainly going to be something to kill the time since I work shift work and get large blocks of time off while the wife is at work and the kid is at school.

Going to do a 2 day trial run On the 19th on a small island by the house. After that, I plan on hitting the Keys. I'd like to bring my German Shepherd as well, once I know what I'm doing.

Had not planned on psychedelics until That One Dude brought it up. It is definitely on the table for the future.

So can I just plop this bad boy anywhere or what?
Is that the one with the power that gels it all up? You could get even manlier, buy an ar15, a 30 round magazine and when you need to shit dig a hole, sit down and sit the back of one of your cavs on the magazine and you have a sitting tripod, works great. This is not advised if you have diarrhea.

Way too much work. Get yourself a good tie down, wrap it around a tree and your waist and lean back for desired level of comfort, push....

I'm not quite getting the visual. Can you draw a stick figure of what you mean?

By the way La Paix @BirdWatcher , your RV thread was the inspiration behind my deciding to take these camping trips. Thanks bro!
Nice! Well knowing I've at least inspired one person to roll the dice and mix up their daily routine makes me happy bud. I fly out of work Monday and get back at it Tuesday :)

If you can get yourself into even something very basic lime a tent trailer it opens up a totally different experience. For myself my days of tenting are probably over but I can definitely see the appeal if some prefer to really get the full outdoors experience.

Any chance it has a light duty hitch receiver on the back?
No. I don't get out much unless it for vacation or take the dogs to the park. I drive 12 minutes to work and 12 minutes home. The car is 3 years old and only has 23,000 miles on it. Haven't needed to really pull anything. When I need make a Home Depot run, I borrow my brother-in-law's truck. That's why I decided on tenting. Especially since I can drive 340 miles for $20 worth of gas.
