Spelled correctly. It's about a make believe soldier who rises through the ranks during England's war with Napoleon. Each episode is a movie. Great show.
Also check out Hornblower. It's a similar show but follows a young naval officer.

Actually the reason we have so many great tv shows these days is thanks to hbo when it came out with your the wire and the sopranos. No one took shows seriously before that. No a-list actor would have even entertained an idea of appearing on a tv show before that. The women of justified:I'd rather eat a dead hookers bum hole.
