We had a mass killing of 23 people here a couple weeks ago. Most of them were burned to death, the rest shot with guns bought illegally smuggled in from out of country.

calling these guns military grade assault rifles is super misleading . in canada max capacity is a 5 round mag. we dont have the same gun rights as america . most of the guns that are going to be "bought back" are going to be carbines like a mini 14 . there just arent tons of "assault rifles " legally owned in canada . they are pretty much trying to lump anything semi auto or scary and black in together and calling them as assault rifles.

2 years ago when Stats Can was trying to pull people's bank records without permission or going through the appropriate channels I was outraged at that too. This law would easily have passed through the appropriate channels. NDP and the Bloc both support it, Liberals control the senate. They didn't need to do this, they chose to do it anyways.
