What are your symptoms like now? Glad to hear your feeling better
Mostly been bad headaches and shortness of breath at this point. If I talk on the phone for awhile I get winded. Also generally fatigued. Had some body aches last night, but not feeling them this morning. Mornings have been better than evenings generally. Still no taste and smell which sucks, but docs say that'll probably be a few weeks.

Got an email at 1am this morning saying that effective immediately any vendor coming into the OR has to provide their own PPE and have to show proof of a negative Covid test. I have a few people that have to be in that chain on Tuesday.

Nothing like sending people scrambling to get tested, find hair caps, masks, shoe covers, etc...

And we have to have the tests done within 7 days. So we're going to have to keep going back over and over and over.

Nothing like using up tests and killing the pocket of the people that you are actually wanting, requesting, come into your facility to help you.

Got an automated phone call and text yesterday from the City saying they have testing spots open to anyone.

Also received an email from my local Urgent Care saying they have testing and offer "Return to work evaluations ".

Yep. The local urgent cares are doing testing at specific locations. The question will be how insurance deals with it since it's a requirement for work. If they don't cover then it's going to cost us about $350ish per week per employee to be able to support Drs during surgeries. With no real way to recover that money.

I was at my local medical centre yesterday and saw a queue around the back, I was surprised it wasn't more pubsicised considering I live around the corner.

You gotta stay away from there.
Can't really, I was all masked and gloved up though as was everyone else. No more till hopefully the 18th and 20th then hopefully nothing till the 20th. They were checking everyone's temperatures as we walked in at least.
Edit: till November. So just two more visits total.

the cost for all the PPE and precautions is getting very high for practices reopening here...PPE(gowns, masks etc...), AirFilter Units, Temp Testing, Covid Testing, etc...

Basically Overhead costs are increasing quite a bit and profit margins are shrinking and of course there will be less patients to serve and collect money from.

So it seems prices for health care will have to go up and be passed onto the patient.

Last thing USA needs is higher healthcare cost right now.

Bit of a Mess

Jesus. Mine with United is over $700 a month now half of it isn't being subsidised. Fuck that.

Case report of 3 patients from China
-all presented with fever, respiratory sx, and GI sx (n/v/d)
-GI sx persisted after resolution of fever and resp sx
-stool persistently positive for SARS-Cov-2, after negative throat swabs

Apparently the gut can function as a reservoir.
