Corrected my post because the "I don't know what street" comment came from another caller, not the shooters. Possibly the person who was filming. English is listed as a "victim" in the police report due to his house being alleged to have had a person going through it by one of the 911 calls. As regards the fishing equipment, it says "earlier this year," again not indicating some rash of thefts. Also, as I mention in my post above, gun thefts from cars by drug addicts are a common crime in the area with the article we're all citing from showing that one such report was the only burglary to take place in the neighborhood in the entire first two months of the year.

Man I get ya, I think the law enforcement community by and large are a bunch of punk bitches.
This^
I'm as right-wing as it gets for the most part and vote like the religious right but blue lives matter along with black lives matter get no love from me. This is a mindfuck unlike Trayvon and Mike Brown which I think justice was served. On the other hand Eric Garner and Tamir Rice were legit did wrong by the boys in blue...

If this is the report you're quoting from, all of those are from the same incident including the 911 call reporting trespassing, possible burglary, and homicide. Also note one of the case numbers you mention was from an incident that happened after the murder.

Again, there was no rash of burglaries in the neighborhood. What is the source on the unreported missing fishing equipment? And again, if there was missing equipment from an unoccupied house that wasn't reported, it doesn't exactly necessitate calling up the local vigilantes.
am i reading that right, that no one called 911? They just grabbed their guns and jumped in their trucks and started chasing the guy?

There were two calls to 911. At this point, the names of those callers hasn't been released.

According to the father's witness statement in the police report, he saw the guy hauling ass down the road, so he ran inside and yelled to his son that the guy was outside, so "let's go". The two grabbed guns and jumped in the truck. He never stated mentions calling 911.

According to the 911 call transcripts, you can hear the gunshots and people yelling for the guy to stop. Presumably the guys in the truck as the police report also contains the father's witness statement saying he yelled "stop stop, we want to talk to you" at the guy. So this caller had to be close to the shooting. I don't see a phone in either one of their hands in the video. The police report lists four other witnesses, one of which is the resident that lives at the address listed on the report, so I would assume the shooting took place in front of his home.

from my googling of georgia law they can not perform a '"citizens arrest" unless the crime is in progress they performed a citizens arrest and execution for someone they SUSPECTED of doing the burglary or even to a lesser degree probably just trespassing that is the job of cops and detectives at that point. I'm not against a citizens arrest but this was not a citizens arrest. they played judge dredd IRL and what they did is vigilantism.

He right about some things. But there was multiple witnesses and there was prior knowledge he was burglar. Also he wasn't just jogging. He was fleeing it is a big difference. Also arbery didnt stand his ground he actually closed the distance on the man with the gun. So if anyone had the right to stand his ground it was the man with the shotgun

Either way it sucks. But the whole "innocent man chased down and killed" is a false narrative aimed at dividing people and negating personal responsibility for people's actions. We are living in a time where everyone is a victim

I think you've brought up some solid points, but there's really too many unknowns at this point. I'm not convinced this was OK.

You pull a gun out with your friend, block the road, and tell me to stop, you have started the threat. Not me. I don't think itd be wrong to respond to that threat with deadly force. You brought the gun.

The only way that Arbery shouldn't be legally allowed to defend himself is if you show me evidence he was just running from a crime right that minute...still not clear yet.

Separate thought:
And even then, forgetting all that, this is how gun owners become gun owners worst night mare and make sure our guns get taken. This is the dumbest escalation I've seen in a long time. It shows in so many ways how citizens arrest laws should be changed. It shows irresponsible gun owners escalating the situation instead of deescalating -- the latter something every CHL class has championed for decades. There's a tie in of the stupidity of open carry and the potential for ambiguity and implied threat, leading to de facto escalation and response.
Nothing about this is good gun habit.

Exactly, homie and his son went straight to deadly force on a guy running like they were some kind of redneck batman and robin. You don't start with the gun, that's very literally the last resort.

so was he just out jogging or not?

seems people are still outraged on instagram and I'm not seeing anything in the comments about it being a burglar out to steal again

We don't know yet. Those details seem to be muddy at best at this point.

Well, I think thats where it gets interesting.

If they had first hand, no shit, witnessed him stealing shit and they tried to stop him and he then went for someones gun...it's a series of terrible decisions that ended up getting him killed. But if you play stupid games you win stupid prizes.

That being said. If they did not have first hand knowledge that it was him, and tried to stop him with guns, and he was defending himself from 2 armed idiots, then they should be in jail for murder. Like I've said earlier, if I'm on a run, and 2 random dudes with guns try to stop me, there's going to be an issue, and I'm going to shoot them.

I feel like we are missing some critically important details, but that video taken as it is looks terrible.
