That's fucking it. I challenge you to a Nashville hot chicken off. Next weekend if you're not saving lives and shit. Obviously following all social distancing guidelines, no matter how mad that will make Rambo John J @Inside Job
I'm on call all next weekend but will give it another go then for sure.

That sounds amazing. Dill pickle brine is where it's at for birds. We marinate snow goose legs in dill pickle juice, then wrap them in bacon and smoke them. They are the shit.
Stop wrapping shit in bacon. You're better than that.

I haven't tried either. What does turtle taste like?
Long story, did a husband company trip to Grand Cayman, every single American in our group did the turtle excursion followed by a turtle lunch after. I was all "what, so you pet them, then you eat them"? I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food but I couldn't get past that.
All us Brits were pretty vanilla hiring jeeps and shit for the day.

So the Americans hired Porsche and you hired Jeep?

Pretty ironic given your opposite sides during the war.

Grand Caymans legal turtles come from the sanctioned turtle farm that is there to help stop poaching the sea turtles for the same reason.
Quite frankly, if you (not you personally) aren't willing to look your food in the eye, you probably shouldn't eat it. That's my opinion for most of what we eat. See it, know it, respect what it is. If you need your meat to be a sterile non-animal block in a grocery store freezer...well that seems a slippery slope to the kind of inhumane meat development practices we support in this country right now.

Yea, it's important to know where our food comes from and to respect the fact an animal died for our benefit.

I'm my mother's daughter still, I wasn't allowed to eat cute animals. Whoever the fuck said cows aren't cute I don't know but I was allowed to eat beef.

I just don't really feel a need to eat a turtle. My favourite meats are ostrich and kangaroo, so I'm hardly icky about stuff. I just don't like the idea of playing with them, then eating them.

@Splinty I lived in Amsterdam for 4 years and used to make husband sandwiches for work with horse meat. I used to ride horses every day so while I could handle the meat, I never once ate it.

Fuck that. Tell yourself that bullshit.

If you bonded with the meat you ate, you would be a veggie. Imagine having a dog for 5 years then making him into a chilli?

It's not gonna happen
