Tyron Woodley denies ducking Colby Covington, wants more time

Tyron Woodley vs. Colby Covington is perhaps the longest running will-they-won’t-they story since The Office ended in 2013. Repeatedly, the two trade insults online, yet scheduling conflicts or injuries or money always keep the two from finally confronting each other head-on in the cage.

This time around, Covington accused Woodley of avoiding a bout with “Chaos” on August 22. It’s no surprise that Covington insulted Woodley in the process, and it’s taken less than a day for Woodley to answer back.

“My answer to whether I would fight Colby is eternally yes,” Woodley told ESPN. “At 96 years old in a nursing home it’s yes! He said no six times and now creates a date that works for him? F--- out of here.”

It never ceases to amaze me the level of delusion and entitlement Woodley has had throughout his career.

Colby is on the up, in his prime and looks better every time he gets in the cage, love him or hate him he is a great fighter, easily "worthy" of this fight.

Woodley is pushing 40 and has looked like shit in his last few, only card he holds is his diminshing name value at this stage.

Of all the MMA fighters I've listened to on the JRE podcast there have been 3 who I've thought "Man, that guy is completely delusional." The list consists of Tyron Woodley, TJ Dillashaw, and Kamaru Usman.

Almost all fighters are delusional. Comes with the territory of fighting in a cage for a living. Interesting that you noted 3 champions though. Because there are equally delusional fighters out there that have never had the success those three guys have had.

One of the few things I will ever agree with Dana White on is that Roy Nelson seems to be the most delusional of them all. The guy seems completely disconnected from anything that happens in his fights and in his value as as ratings draw.

This is correct. I'm only basing my statement on the ones whom I've heard on long form conversations. Rogan has talked to many MMA champions and only those 3 do I remember truly rolling my eyes at the nonsense coming out of their mouths.
