Agreed. The Whittaker who showed up to fight Romero twice was an absolute beast. You wouldn't necessarily write that guy off against better strikers, because he had the mental toughness to overcome technical flaws

But I think that Whittaker no longer exists. This fight will show it.

He was a grappler's nightmare. But he has never been a truly elite striker in his own right. There's the Wonderboy and Adesanya KOs, and I still remember him getting handled by former meth tweaker Court McGee.

Whittaker was very lucky he avoided Moose on his road to the title.
