Me and Stanislovski Petrovsky moved to St Louis and are staying at my sister-cousins house. Stanli has never had a flea problem until now. He's the only 4 legged creature and hasn't made any friends but he was playing in the front yard and was covered in fleas.

Shaved him, washed him with flea stuff, put the anti flea juice down his back, bombed the house. A week later more fleas. Repeated deflea protocols (even though he had that strip on his back I gave him another). Moved his play area to the backyard. Another week and more fleas on him, running about willy nilly. Repeated the deflea.

I don't see any fleas in the house but one broad (don't really like her so I'm not motivated to be overly concerned) is the only one with flea bites. I'm going to buy that yard spray but what else should I try? I'm moving into my own house in a month but can't leave this spot infested and don't want to keep poisoning my Stanli with chemicals that don't work.

diatomaceous earth can help in the yard. it's like crushed up oyster shells...actually i have no idea what it is, but the point is to scratch up the fleas so they don't reproduce. I got it at a pool supply store and it worked. it comes in a bag, it's like a powder. you spread it all over the yard.

you'll have to double check me, but i'm pretty sure it's not poisonous so your pet can still play in the yard after you spread it. that's why we used it so it didn't hurt our dog. i don't remember how long it took..but it eventually killed the fleas. it wasn't that expensive either compared to hiring a pest control service to treat the yard.

Yea it cuts up the fleas and bugs so they die a slow and painful death, but leaves everything else alone

Here's my lil buddie Jax. He had the same flea problem the last month. I tried everything. Finally back to back flea dips worked. He still has some spots from scratching. But he is almost healed up. Good luck.

As funny as this sounds it works for us. A vet we used when we lived in Florida told us about it.

Go to the dollar store and buy a couple boxes of powder laundry detergent with bleach and pour it all over your carpets like you would carpet fresh and leave it down for as long as you can before vacuuming . Give your hound a good flea bath. This should take care of your problem.

I'm going to combine this with yard spray and fogger inside the house. These fuckers must leave my Stanli Man alone!

Very important you get the detergent with bleach not the regular stuff. It doesn't hurt the carpet but it kills the living shit out of fleas.

I like the orange scented brand. It makes the house smell nice lol

do the powder stuff second...i don't think it's supposed to get wet. only works when it's dry.

The problem with fleas is that once even one female lays eggs (in the tens of thousands each time) it can take 4-6 weeks for them to hatch so can take time to get the issue under control.

I haven't had a flea problem in many years but always used ACV vs chemicals on my critters. Here are a couple of links to info:
Apple Cider Vinegar Flea Treatment for Dogs
Natural Flea Control

The 2nd also has detailed info on how to use the diatomaceous earth and also warnings, it is in fact poisonous, especially the version you get at pool stores, look for it at garden centers as well and don't allow your dog to be laying on it and inhaling it, better to stay away from it until it's vacuumed up, a day or two usually.

All of this is true and is great for the yard area...

Neem oil is totally non toxic to your dog but it will wipe out fleas or fungal shit in the coat it's an oil, you just have to rub it in, his coat will be fly as fuck after too.

Edit- It works by stopping the bugs being able to develop from one life cycle to the next, and making adults infertile. It's a plant oil made up of carbon and hydrogen it couldn't be safer.

This is what we've used when we had a really bad flea problem. Yes it's a chemical but our animals (of which we have a lot) never suffered at all. Nor did we. We simply vacuumed really really good, sprayed the carpet and around base boards, waited a few hours and the vaccumed again. It's lasts a few weeks so it keeps killing any new ones that hatch. You can spray again in two to three weeks. :)

I was editing that post while you were reading it going by the alert. That stuff is all you need really and it won't harm you or the dog now or in the long term, I don't trust all that chemical stuff.
