I'm looking for a new look on my douchemobile and am thinking about going the plastidip route as opposed to buying new wheels. When I bought it there was an option of black wheels, but at the time they didn't have a car in the color I wanted with the options I wanted with the black wheels, so I made the deal on a car with silver alloy wheels and drove away. I don't like the silver color, so I'm thinking of just switching it up with plastidip. It allegedly lasts a few years and if I don't like it, or just want to change the looks, I can just strip them and plastidip with a new color. Plastidip has this color called Brass Monkey which is a dark copper/bronze and I think it might look pretty sweet, since I'm a douche.

Anyone with experience with plastidip? Thoughts? Tips?

I'd use it to see what color you like and then get rims in that color or get you current rims powder coated in that color

Dude, that will look great with your affliction shirt. I probably shouldnt ask but do you already have the annoying exhaust system?

It came stock with the annoying exhaust system. It pops and cracks, scares old ladies, it's awesome. Nothing like announcing to the world they are in the presence of a douchemobile with a simple downshift.

If they are flaking they need to be redone one way or another and I doubt the plastidip would last very long since I can't see it bonding to whatever is underneath the flaking. I'm not a chrome fan, so I would personally opt for either a new set of wheels or powder coating. Powder coating can be expensive (at least in my geographical region), so I would most likely spend a little more on new wheels over powder coating. Maybe that's just me though.
