2 guys were standing next to each other looking at a computer monitor. I think Tom is channeling his inner Les Grossman.
I get the message, but the delivery is waaaaay off. Unless these two guys have been warned about this a couple times before.

Tom Cruise's COVID rant
We want the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us! Because they believe in us and what we’re doing! I’m on the phone with every f***ing studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs you motherf***ers.

I don’t ever want to see it again, ever! And if you don’t do it you’re fired, if I see you do it again you’re f***ing gone. And if anyone in this crew does it - that’s it, and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever f***ing do it again.
That’s it! No apologies. You can tell it to the people that are losing their fing homes because our industry is shut down. It’s not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education.

That’s what I sleep with every night. The future of this f***ing industry! So I’m sorry I am beyond your apologies. I have told you and now I want it and if you don’t do it you’re out. We are not shutting this f***ing movie down! Is it understood?
If I see it again you’re f***ing gone — and you are — so you’re going to cost him his job, if I see it on the set you’re gone and you’re gone.
That’s it. Am I clear?

Do you understand what I want? Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason. And if you can’t be reasonable and I can’t deal with your logic, you’re fired. That’s it. That is it.
I trust you guys to be here. That’s it. That’s it guys. Have a little think about it. . .[inaudible].

That’s what I think of Universal and Paramount. Warner Brothers. Movies are going because of us. If we shut down it’s going to cost people f***ing jobs, their home, their family. That’s what’s happening.
All the way down the line. And I care about you guys, but if you’re not going to help me you’re gone. OK? Do you see that stick? How many metres is that?

When people are standing around a f***ing computer and hanging out around here, what are you doing? And if they don’t comply then send their names to Matt Spooner. That’s it.

Day late and a dollar short as usual, dork.

I read his/her post and added the entire quote from Tom Cruise.

i just didn't quote his/her post because, unlike Tom Cruise, he/she is not a real person.
Tom Cruise knows when he's pretending to be something he's not, and when he's Tom Cruise.

I don't think there's enough years left in his/her life for he/she to achieve that level of basic human self-awareness.

gotta remember that the 34k flu deaths is almost entirely CDC waving their hands at formulas...there's only a couple thousand people every year who are 'confirmed' flu deaths, using the COVID definition of 'confirmed', e.g. tested positive and died, where COVID/Flu was a contributor to death.
They don't wave their hands at formulas, they relabel excess deaths during flu season as flu deaths.

i'm talking about the CDC

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates the number of flu infections in the US via its influenza surveillance system, which gathers flu data from state and local partners, then projects nationwide totals using infectious-disease models. Between the 2013-14 and 2018-19 seasons, the number of counted annual influenza deaths ranged from 3,448 to 15,620, and the CDC's official estimates for the entire US ranged from 23,000 to 61,000."

According to the CDC they wildly underreport flu deaths.

Source: CDC

Relevance: You posted an article that states the CDC under reports covid deaths and over reports flu deaths.
no one is saying they over-report flu deaths. where does the CDC state they under-report deaths?

The thumbnail of the article you posted explicitly states they over report.

i was trying to figure out what "found" deaths were, LoL. yes - flu is rarely listed as a 'cause of death' because the flu mostly kills people for whom getting the flu was a part of an overall failure of health.

that's not true of COVID. It kills people who have many years of health left in them.

That's not on topic of what was being discussed. That being said, how does one arrive at that conclusion when you look at average age of death for an American and use that against the average age of death of covid patients?

Because you extrapolate the measures imposed on surviving members of society.

Would you want to live in a country of 20% unemployment with crime and health completely disrupted for a decade and hope to pick up the pieces later?

Just so uncle Eugene who was 78 lived to be 80 and died of heart disease 2 years earlier.

Imagine that mentality in 1940.

Its a horrible call and above my pay scale but there is a price on human life I'm afraid.

Johnson was caught out today when he said live on air that we haven't seen such conditions at Christmas since Cromwell. He was referring to the plague.

This isn't the plague.

The statistics are being kept secret.

‘We want them infected’: Trump appointee demanded ‘herd immunity’ strategy, emails reveal
Senior Trump officials have repeatedly denied that herd immunity — a concept advocated by some conservatives as a tactic to control Covid-19 by deliberately exposing less vulnerable populations in hopes of re-opening the economy — was under consideration or shaped the White House's approach to the pandemic. “Herd immunity is not the strategy of the U.S. government with regard to coronavirus," HHS Secretary Alex Azar testified in a hearing before the House coronavirus subcommittee on Oct. 2.

How many times does this retarded false dichotomy have to be debunked?

The economies that are doing the best are the ones that controlled the virus, not the ones that went with your genius 'just let old people die, bro' idea.

Gunshot Wound Victims Included In Colorado County’s Covid-Related Death Totals

A Colorado coroner is outraged over the “inflated” coronavirus-related death totals in Grand County.

According to Brenda Bock, the county’s five COVID-19 deaths include two gunshot wound victims.

The state health department, however, says they’re simply following protocol from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by including anyone who’s tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 30 days.

“It’s absurd that they would even put that on there,” Bock said, according to 4CBS Denver. “Would you want to go to a county that has really high death numbers? Would you want to go visit that county because they’re contagious? You know, I might get it, and I could die if all of a sudden one county has a high death count. We don’t have it, and we don’t need those numbers inflated.”

“The state health department says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires them to report people who’ve died with COVID-19 in their systems because it’s crucial for public health surveillance,” 4CBS Denver reported, outlining how the state codes coronavirus deaths:
