I feel sympathy for her family. They are missing a loved one.

She made her choices. She broke into the Capitol building and attempted to get past a police barricade. Before the event, she had posted "Nothing can stop us" on social media.
She understood the potential consequences of her actions and she committed those actions anyway.

Cold or not, I can't feel sorry for someone who does that.

Idk, I bet 10-15% is "clan" racist super haters, but I bet more like 40-50% of people are "casual" racists, and look down on other races as "less than" but are pretty luke warm in the hate department.

there's not that many clan racist super haters in the US, not even close. But I'd say about 80% of all Americans are 'casual' racists. They're just blind to it.

certainly yes that’s why all the quotes in my post. I was trying to be polite and avoid calling a spade but historically about 5-10% are far right lunatics with a soft spot for fascist tendencies. Then we’re guessing from that point on but most certainly the majority of “good citizens” are racists whether they explicitly let it out or not.

and it is actually much more complicated than “being racist” as we all have some level of prejudice inside ourselves, which is why is so important to have formal institutional defenses for minorities. So that whether you have shit thoughts or not you’re not allowed to say it out loud without punishment and you’re obligated to live with minorities at school, college, work, Congress.

I think probably close to 7 out of 10, a lot of it is unconscious, automatic. I am super left, beyond liberal towards socialist, and I find myself thinking racist thoughts sometimes. A lot of these attitudes and worldview are ingrained on us in childhood at a young age through family and friends. I think the best you can do is recognize it, and then work to change the way you feel/see things.

myself included. It's simply human nature to hold people in different regard based on how much they look like us.
I'm saying that "racism" is human nature, but it's easy to adjust accordingly and adapt such that "racism" isn't a concern of society.
