i used to think tigers would dominate lions until a thread on TMMAC

male lions are not nearly as outsized as i had previosuly thought. and in terms of a fight, they've got their manes as well as their fighting lifestyle vs tigers being more of a hunter lifestyle

*below is a bad chart, as siberian tigers are bigger than bengals. but i gotta get back to zach snyder*

lions and tigers are the same genus and match up well in a fight

whereas orcas and great whites are an entirely different class (mamalia vs chrondrichthyes) and materially different in size

The primary reason is that tigers sit back on their haunches and strike with two paws whilst the lions post up in a tripod and hit with one paw. You used to able to find the footage on YouTube. One time a femal tiger was beating up a male lion and the male lion backed up into a male tiger, one mighty swipe from the male tiger and the male lion turned and ran.
