I said 'deliberately'. The guy was a cunt, but at least a mostly rational cunt. He made ruthless and incorrect decisions that resulted in starvation but there's absolutely no evidence he intended to starve masses of his own people. Lots of leaders make ruthless decisions - that's my point.
Unlike Mao, the intent of Eisenhower and Kennedy was very clear - to deliberately starve Chinese citizens by cutting off food supply to them. They then used the starvation they were contributing to (no, it obviously wasn't all on them) in order to destabilize the communist regime and blackmail it on foreign policy issues. This was rational, but also 'evil'. The food blockade included significant threats and intimidation aimed at Canada and other countries who tried to send food (for profit, of course).
And the point of me pointing this out to old mate wasn't to say Mao was a top bloke and Kennedy was 'evil', the point was to say 'hey, stop thinking like retarded child'. If Mao is 'evil' for recklessly causing starvation without regard for human life, then what are Kennedy and Eisenhower for deliberately causing it?
