Help!
I have some shares in ASRT, which apparently did a 4:1 reverse split… what does that mean?
My TD account is fucked now because they charged a mandatory reorganization fee. Aren’t they supposed to tell me about that beforehand?

hella confused.

It means they fucked you and you now have 25% of the shares you originally had.

TD's support is very good in my experience. You should reach out to them and ask.

Reverse split is a way for a company to inflate their per share price, generally to avoid getting delisted.

If 1 share is worth $0.25 and you have 20 shares, your all-in value is $5

After a 4:1 reverse split, you now have 5 shares (20/4) valued at $1 per share, for a total value of $5.

Your total value doesn't change.

Reorganization fees aren't uncommon. If you complain enough they might wave it. It will help if the fee is a heavy percentage chunk of your total value. Like if you have $70 worth of stock and they just charged you $38 to file the reverse split.

FYI - A reverse split usually isn't a good sign of things to come.

You were too fast lol

I will. Just fuck man. I really thought they had to tell shareholders beforehand.
I'm sure they have a notice in the fine print somewhere.

And the company likely discussed it in news releases and vote notifications.

But it's not uncommon to get surprised by a reverse split. Sucks.
