i must have glossed over this part? What mathematicians proved that it was impossible? Please share a legitimate source.
Good luck with that!

On another forum, I once started a thread asking right-wingers to please disprove one single Snopes article conclusion, on any topic. Just one - since they ALL uniformly HATE Snopes, they must have at least a couple of go-to examples of Snopes being flat wrong because of political bias or anything else....... right?

Want to guess what happened?

If you guessed "400 posts of whining, crying and lying, and not even one single honest attempt to disprove one single Snopes article".......... you are correct!

Anybody forsee anything different would happen with the tinfoil clowns here?

Oh don't even get me started on that fucking guy. Is there an event that's been hosted in North America the last 10 years that he hasn't made worse by showing up, being featured and being completely unprepared, disrespectful and unfunny?

I wouldn't identify as a right winger, but here ya go.

See, I don't even hold Snopes up as infallible. Of course not.

But on balance they are pretty good, and clearly they are a good source for puncturing bullshit.

Which is why the actual right wingers (of which you are not one) HATE it so much, unanimously.

Because their entire worldview and everything in it is BUILT on a foundation of lies, ignorance and bullshit.

Fact-checking websites are anathema to them, because they only deal with "alternative facts" (ie, lies.)

You don't see anywhere near the same fear, hatred and loathing of sourcing and fact-checking from the mainstream left. There's good reason for that.

I usually ignore the article they posted, but just have a look around the homepage of the site that hosted it. Near on guaranteed to be just one or two steps away from "articles" about how Michelle Obama is secretly a man or climate change is a Zionist hoax or Antifa stormed the Capitol or whatever.

Oh, I don't actually read them, I just fact check the source via a fact checking website. I should have been more specific.

I'm not making a value judgement. You made a request, and I fulfilled it.

My personal opinion of Snopes is they were the gold standard until a few years ago. They do have a political bias and they started fact checking along those lines. They rarely outright lie, but they've become very liberal with their "mixed" rating.

See, that's a stance that I can easily accept.

What I got from right wing conspiracy retards, was 20 pages of crying and dribbling shit. Their beef isn't with Snopes or any particular decision from Snopes. Their grudge is against sourcing and fact checking, period. Because stupid, unsourced lies work so well with the right wing base that tends to be uneducated, ignorant and gullible, the right wingers tend to just assume that SAYING something is so while WANTING it to be true, means that now it IS true.

They tend to find it really difficult to deal with people who push back on that.

I watched leftists and progressives do the same thing for the last 5 years, and ramped up over the last 12 months, so you'll have to forgive me for not being dazzled.

I want a full country recount, I believe there was a conspiracy

no new president until it has been concluded

or wait, we don’t have a president, he’s senile so he doesn’t know he’s in office.

No, you really didn't. Objectively, that is not a true statement.

??
The Snopes article i posted demonstrates it. The "lab leak is a conspiracy theory" was not in any way, shape or form grounded in objective reality. It was a baseless political mantra. This is far from the only example, its just the easiest because the shift has been so transparent.

I just talked to the most bigly and tremendous mathematicians at a cutting edge research institution about the steal and they said, and I quote: “please leave me alone.”

That demonstrates that there's an equivalent level of lies and bullshit and deliberate misinformation coming from the left as there is from the right?

Is that what you're saying?

"Equivalent" is subjective. I will say there is unacceptable levels of misinformation coming from both sides.

Also, BeardOfKnowledge @JorgeMasvidalsBeard, I skimmed the article while on my lunch break.

First, it was published more than two months ago.

Second, it doesn't say much if anything about how the virus got loose into the human population. It says that its properties are not consistent with being human-engineered as a bio-weapon, which was the claim that the article was addressing. But that's not the same as definitively saying that it did not escape from a lab, is it.

This is what the "Bottom Line" says:
The actual scientific facts known about the novel coronavirus leave little room for it to be a virus of human creation, however.
Seems like a pretty definitive statement.

Except it's not anything close to equivalent, is it.

??
Again, you're asking for someone's opinion on something that's subjective. People have different priorities what I think is egregious you might believe is no big deal, and vice versa. Objectively however, misinformation is coming from both "sides" in large quantities.
