Is this upcoming main event the weakest ever?

Islam Makhachev and Thiago Moises are main eventing on July 17, after Holloway pulled out of the original main event vs Yair.

Makhachev is ranked #9, is on the way up and is going to make some noise in a crowded division, but his best win so far is Drew Dober.

Moises has beaten nobody of note.

Neither man has beaten a currently ranked UFC fighter. This is not a main event fight. I'm surprised they didn't push Miesha's comeback up to the main event, unless she nixed that idea.

I don't understand why we're all supposed to love Rose and cry from joy when she wins. She's a good fighter and her fights are generally exciting, but on the mic she has absolutely zero charisma and is crazy as a shithouse rat. Plus her relationship with Pat Barry is creepy and uncomfortable as fuck seems straight up predatory, and her haircut makes her look like a 12 year old boy.

Cain Velasquez did more damage than good for the UFC: The UFC on Fox1 fight sucked (he got injured and still fought, respect though). He ruined JDS... Only fought very few guys as champ, lots of rematches. Regarding Latino Market: doesn't speak too much Spanish, especially during the TUF season Werdum speaks better Spanish thain Cain. And of all the places.. he travels too late to Mexico City and loses on "home turf" due to not being acclimated.

I kind of liked the period before the Gaethje/Ferguson fight when there were no events for a couple of weeks and coming in there was some time to really look forward to the next UFC event, I knew all the fights going in and it felt more like 10 years ago. I was really excited for that one.

Brad Riddell will never challenge for the title, but he'll be a good gatekeeper and fan favourite action fighter. He's a bit one-dimensional, but his technique is pretty crisp and he gets stronger as the fight goes on, which is indicative of a high fight IQ. I'm looking forward to seeing his journey, though he wants to stay away from Gregor Gillespie IMO. Nothing good about that style matchup for him.

Hey it's the first card on a major network! Let's have a 2 hour broadcast with one fight on it, and then JDS can KO Cain in 70 seconds and make us all look like assholes for the other 1 hour and 59 minutes of dead air.

Oh, we're going to Mexico for the first time! Let's bring our Mexican American heavyweight champion, have him arrive in Mexico six hours before the fight and not spend any time acclimating to the altitude, because that would mean actually spending time in Mexico. Then let's have him get choked out by his Brazilian underdog opponent who speaks better Spanish than Cain does anyway!
