We will take a 5% platform fee + app store fees, our model is meant to be complete opposite of the UFC model where the fighter gets ~20% and the UFC gets ~80%.
lol what the fuck son.

hilarious to see you compare your model to that of the ufc! oh my god. I first read that when I was walking through a park, and stopped dead in my tracks. like i got bad news lol

you realise that the ufc actually has a legit claim to some of the money they make? the ufc puts the fighter on the stage, and you've popped a hat for pennies next to it. don't try to make favourable comparisons about what proportion of the money goes to the fighters, are you fucking insane?

if you truly hope to help the fighters, you might be willing to publicly set a cap on the level of revenue you make, to ensure you get paid an OK hourly rate, but everything above that goes to the fighters.

but I guess you hope to make good money. your intentions are self-interested. this sport is full of finger-pointing assholes like me. just find something else.

I'll get right on tipping fighters right after I make sure Dana gets his cut of the PPV money
Did you see the pawn stars where Dana bought a $30,000, $10,000 and $30,000 for a bunch of samurai swords like it was buying a few diet Coke’s?

Would appreciate it a ton!!

Our end goal is to help bring awareness and exposure to lesser known fighters in lesser known leagues. We believe that we can build a platform where putting their fights on our app will bring them more exposure to fans and increase their likeliness of sponsors and tips as well, which can be extremely helpful for their career in the long run.

UFC has built an amazing MMA community and they have given athletes a star podium but we hope TapStats will give less fortunate, yet strong fighters a chance at the podium as well.

Our app was born to the idea of a gamified experience of "tapping" to generate live crowd-sourced data. Tipping is just one of the features.

bah I better wind my neck in to be fair. this poster is a respected guest with a very reasonable offer which we might all wish to pay towards.

and it's very disrespectful for me to suggest that he might wish to purchase urine. that would be ridiculous, it's a dumb idea, urine is of no value.

I might be called somewhat of a shill for saying this, but I think you guys have good intentions, I first thought that the idea of paying UFC fighters what is basically already owed to them was stupid, that's like making the fans do goodwill because WME is too cheap to take the money out of their own pockets, but when I read it was supposed to back certain lower league fighters, I thought it was a great idea, not everyone has a great sponsorship or is fighting for a championship at LFA, Cage Rage etc so that solution comes in handy in terms of getting them to the big scene by supporting them through private funding.

I hope alot of people on this site will chip in to help the overall sport of MMA, even people who aren't as financially well off as others could give 5 dollars or just 1. It's the intent of doing it and not the overall amount that counts. I will myself be donating and hope others will follow along that path, maybe you guys could also have certain sponsors that would help pay and thereby sponsor your company? You could even go as far as being a sponsor yourself at one point, with the money you earn so that there will be more focus on the subject and it will generate more media publicity, I'm sure WME and others would start paying the fighters more once the company's name is written on a fighters shorts in one of the promotions that is shown on Fightpass etc.

There was an app a few years ago that fighters were pushing similar to this

Wonder what happened with that one.

But why should we tip fighters if they won't organize for themselves?

We just supposed to pick up The Bald Fathers pay slack and the fighters
unwillingness to stand up for themselves and organize collectively?

The unfair payment of MMA fighters has long been an issue in the MMA community - most recently highlighted by Sarah “Too Sweet” Alpar, who had to launch a GoFundMe in order to train full-time for her upcoming UFC fight.

The answer to this is tipping, just as we do for content creators. TapStats is the world’s first platform that allows fans to tip athletes directly as the action happens.

Be among the first CORE MMA community to send a tip on the very first day it goes live. Only MMA insiders have been invited so they can get a special place in the history of our sport

On July 10th, the first version of our app will be on the app store. Feel free to try it (sign up using the link below) and let us know what you think. We’ll be adding more exciting features in the upcoming months, stay tuned!

It would be one massive swerve if Dana was the founder of this app and just did it to save money for WME. Lmao.

That's funny that you said that, because in this other forum you wrote in, you said that you guys kept 5 % -10 % and it was something that was "still being worked at", care to clarify? July 10 is the first day fans can finally tip fighters live during matches with the new app, TapStats. #TipYourFighter

TapStats is not just a platform for tipping athletes - TapStats also provides a gamified experience for watchers through tapping. Taps records live strike data which TapStats project as a variety of performance indicators - they can help you better understand the fight.

At the end of the fight, you're given an accuracy score and we will introduce a reward system in the upcoming months. This app is totally free for MMA fans that want to tap or follow the live data - tipping is just if you want to.

Additionally, TapStats end goal is to bring awareness and exposure to lesser known, upcoming fighters in the smaller leagues. We know that the tips and exposure from the app will impact their career the most.
How many times have you had to copy-paste this on different forums today?

NFC (a promotion in Atlanta) did something similar to this for one of their recent events. It got more use than I thought it would.

How are you getting this money to the fighters?

The management team actually just decided last night, right after I posted 5-10%. The decision is that we will be doing the 5% platform fee. Thank you for pointing it out!

Hi sir! Nice question and I'm glad to hear that it got more use than expected.

The tips will be available for the fighters to collect through checks! Should be a very easy process.

Thank you DarthBader, I'm glad you see from our perspective. A few hundred or thousand bucks for a small fighter goes a longgggg way. We also display the top 3 tippers for each fight on the app so we hope that small businesses or sponsors will tip the fighters in a competitive way for them to get marketing as well. ?

How will it be an easy process?

Do you have mailing addresses for all fighters? How will they receive these checks?
