Cole recovered with a solid outing yesterday against the Astros.
9 inning complete game. 3 hits. 2 BBs. 12 Ks. 0 runs.

A much better mix of his off-speed stuff (change, curve, slider). That's a good sign. Assuming he was using the sticky stuff, this outing shows he's adjusted and is confident throwing those pitches again.

99 mph heater on the 129th pitch of the game to close it out.

He was strong as hell all night. But to win that way against the Astros offense is huge for his confidence going forward.

Reds are making some noise. Sitting at 47-42 and have won 8/10.

They are in 2nd place, 5 games back from the Brewers. This is a huge part in the year due to some very odd scheduling, as the Reds play the Brewers 7 times in a row. 4 @ MIL prior to the All Star Break, then 3 vs MIL immediately after the break. Reds have taken 2 of 3 so far in the first series.

Last night they got one over on Brewers stud Josh Hader in the 9th when Suarez knocked his 18th HR with a 418 ft oppo moonshot.
