Surges here occurred last summer before a vaccine existed.
They occur now for most of the same reasons they occur last summer.
No one blamed anything. These are just facts.
If you're not vaccinated you're at high risk for hospitalization compared to the vaccinated. Those are facts. If a large quantity of people are unvaccinated and act like the pandemic is over and do not perform other interventions outside of the vaccine then you get these numbers. That's whats happened.
Excuse me I'm literally in the hospital right now doing charts on my way down to the ICU for my dying covid patient that has an "asymptomatic disease"...
