Never been duck hunting before. This will be a first. I'm a decent shot and shoot skeet well with a turkey choke so I'm hoping for at least 1 or 2. I really want to make turducken for Thanksgiving. And I want to learn to cook duck, it's delicious.
I make a duck gumbo my buddy's over in Louisiana showed, it's fantastic.

Don't let your mates have all the fun when it's their turn to shoot...Player 2 controls the duck!

Geese are horrible.

I mean as creatures. Very good eating.

If I get into it as much as my neighbor thinks I will I'm down
My coming home empty handed to coming home with meat ratio is atrocious, and I still love hunting. Can't see any reason you won't feel the same way. Just always remember that it's about the pursuit and not the kill. When people get focused on the killing aspect over the sporting aspect it becomes immensely fucked up. I really don't want anyone to start out with the best intentions and end up like Jeff Foiles shooting geese in a public park with a bb gun to collect their bands.

Wild game meat discussion is always one of my favorites. You ask 10 guys, you'll get 10 different answers, and no 2 guys ever prepare anything the same way, lol.
That is true, a lot of people like Canada Goose and I don't really care for it. I have yet to meet someone who eats duck that isn't impressed with a woody.

One of my friends who's a fanatical waterfowler and hasn't hunted big game in years, says moose is his absolute favorite wild game meat. I always found that to be a little funny.

Moose is delicious, I've never had the privilege of hunting one but have definitely enjoyed eating it. Bear is another that you would think wouldn't taste great but makes for great table fare.
