Melle Mel told me she did in fact get banned last eve for cursing in her discussion. I'm not sure what exactly happened but I will say this, as a new site there are going to be growing pains and things that need addressed as it goes. I think Leigh handled a similar thread perfectly last week by Freezing It which allowed everyone to calm down just a bit. Again this is why I have suggested a couple more Mods be appointed so shit can get handled before it gets out of hand(just my two cents but it's your site your rules).

Now HG is not white knighting here but I personally would appreciate if just this one time to allow all those banned during the said event and put them on double secret probation and a severe spanking.

I literally have no idea exactly what in the chitchat thread led to her banning (out of the loop working this past weekend); but I have appreciated her postings and insight on numerous other threads

I don't know if she will come back or not, but her ban is for 24 hours I believe, not permanent.

We are not doing this every time a member gets a temp or perm ban.

I see some don't get terminology. There is no freezing on any site on the internet except the UG.
You get temp or perm bans for various lengths of time.

I understand that anyone that gets banned here over the next however many years, is going to have some supporters. I get it. But at the same time, I don't want to have to go thru this every time it happens. We have been working our asses off here, to get people to sign up & grow the community. Statistics show that it takes approximately 10 hours of our time, to just get 1 new person to sign up. So do you all think that we want to ban people? Hell no we don't. But at the same time, we can't put that time & effort in and then have people name calling, making personal attacks, constantly leaving negative profile posts that guests & lurkers see, etc...no matter who they are, how long they've been here, or how many supporters they have. It's counterproductive and makes things toxic here, because people end up playing follow the leader.

We were more than patient in this instance, like we always try to be. It wasn't a knee jerk decision. Matter of fact, she told us to ban her account. So we did...for 24 hours. She's more than welcome to return when that expires, but everyone needs to play by the same rules.

Regarding Emmery. He made multiple posts campaigning for Mel, by name calling us, and questioning our motives & character. He then took to Twitter and made a mess of our timeline, by accusing us of allowing racism & sexism here. Then he also told us to ban his account. So we did...for a week. He is also welcome to return when that expires.

But again, everyone needs to play by the same rules. We start playing favorites & letting some bend the rules, but try to ask others to tow the line...hows that going to work out? Not good, obviously.

While I appreciate everyone's appeal for Mel, we have to protect the integrity & culture of the community. It's nothing personal. I like her, respect her writing abilities, and appreciate her introducing us to some of the people she has. All I ask is that she (and everyone) play by the rules. It's really no more complicated than that.
