The so-called "racist" comment is questionable at best imo.
Regarding DeMaurice Smith (Exec Director of NFL Players Assoc) Gruden said...
"Dumboriss Smith has lips the size of Michelin Tires"
It was 10 years ago, but that never really matters anymore. I think he's getting a pass because he worked so many years in the media.

He said he has routinely used the term "rubber lips" to "refer to a guy I catch as lying ... he can't spit it out."
"I'm ashamed I insulted De Smith," Gruden told ESPN, adding, "I never had a racial thought when I used it. ... I'm embarrassed by what's out there. I certainly never meant for it to sound that bad."
Of course my first instinct was that comment about a black man having big lips is racist, but it's not completely impossible that Gruden didn't have racist intent.
It's the only incident afaik of Gruden making a possibly racist comment. He's either really careful or not really a racist.
He had time to prepare his response.
I'm not saying he is racist. I'm saying the media appears to be giving him a pass on the incident.
It probably helps that he called a bunch of people fuckers.

Agreed. They probably could have explained away the borderline racist stuff, which is what it appeared his media buds - white and black - were trying to do.
But the gay and anti-women shit can't be fixed. Hard to believe intelligent people don't see the dangers in sending emails like that.
I'm sure he'll land with a head coach job at a small college and try to start his comeback.
