MRNA will offer cures. Cures aren't good for business. Treatments are good for business.

And these big pharma companies that have been sinking money into this technology for years are just realizing this?

Someone has to manufacture and distribute these "cures".They are going to ride this train until the wheels fall off, imo.

They haven't been. They supplement others work to make sure they don't find themselves on the outside looking in. An appropriate analog would be oil companies and their funding of green tech. Sure they do it, but anyone who thinks they want out of the oil selling business is kidding themselves.

I personally am happy that - unlike my grandparent's generation - exactly nobody I know who was born in the last half century ever had their lives affected by smallpox or polio. At all.

If you really want to be honest, then all these anti-vaxx activists want to bring smallpox and polio back. And have measles ruin shitloads more people, too.
