Which adds up to maybe the government should do something to encourage and prepare for this massive transformation, rather than just continue being corrupt denialists like the GOP is about every single thing, for decades.

It takes a long time to charge these cars. It's not like a 3 minute stop at a gas station. Charging stations will need to be placed at grocery stores or restaurants where visits are already expected to take 20 minutes or so.
Unless - you know - technology advances and they develop a way to charge these cars quickly - then it changes.
