Looks like mid forties and rain on Christmas.
After the 25th I hate snow. Hate. True hate, the kind that makes you want to murder every cloud in the sky

Drive up ok? Do you go into Horseshoe Bay then drive north or is there a better route?

Edit- Just looked and it appears there’s a 15 hour ferry from Port Hardy to Rupert? I’ve heard about it years ago but never really looked to verify. Have you done that?

Flew for the first time in years. Shit show that was.

Yes, Horseshoe bay up - through the canyon.

That ferry is expensive with a vehicle, like a grand or something.

33 F, gently snowing. Christmas eve and day, it'll be in the forties and rainy.
My least favorite kind of weather.

Better than that crazy freeze y'all got!
I guess we’ll see what happens in a couple of months! February seems to be when we get the worst of whatever winter brings. But we’re prepared for that shit if it happens again. I suspect ERCOT has done jack shit to prevent it from happening again. At times I wish I lived out in the sticks again.

My brain doesn't connect the idea of a tough winter to a subtropical region. You getting Michigan weather is nuts.

The fact that you had a winter crisis while ours was mild is insane.

Yep. Our winters are pretty mild (especially compared to what I was used to growing up in the Midwest). We usually only have a couple of hard freezes a year. We’ll have a few cold days, and then is back up in the 70s for a week. Rinse repeat. Having a hard freeze that lasted a week was odd. I’ve only seen snow here a few times in 20 years, and it’s usually a dusting that doesn’t last a day. So getting 10 inches of snow at my house was a treat!

It's December 26 and I think I'm going to grill out today. Temps in the mid-50s.

Heading up to 70 tomorrow. Crazy. But I'll be back to work so who gives a fuck.
