CNN)ISIS on Thursday purportedly released a video and audio statement threatening to attack Russia "very soon."

In the nearly five-minute long video, a chant in Russian is heard over visual compilations of old ISIS propaganda and generic video of Russian cities and buildings.

They either want to increase the hate against them (and in parallel hate on Muslims in general) or they have a death wish.

They would have Intel to make them move right? Resources to plan? Let's say they did do what they said they did it's pretty organized and money has to come from somewhere but who? I'll take a guess and say Saudi funds them. As for the intelligence part, they are very organized. ISIS has a lot of veterans from a lot of conflicts around the world. Not all of them are shepherds. But people do have to stop the money.

People do need to stop the money flow. Not only that it's word of mouth. Stop them spreading there voice. They live on social media and spread it. Those vids are petty high quality for some movement seems like they are thought through, like how to get a hold of the masses. One thing is to be a vet in conflicts another is to be showed production values.

Yeah they have a very efficient recruitment arm. I don't exactly know what attracts people to join ISIS, but it's working. The strategy of getting people to join the fight in Syria and then shipping them back home to wreak havoc, I must say is very smart. Instead of them going to each country. They're even recruiting in South East Asia, mostly Malays and Indonesians.

The strange thing is, after 9/11, I said to a work colleague that my real worry was al qaeda (had to retype that 3 times to lower case the q) just dropping into society and blasting everyone with machine guns in crowded areas and he said no worry, that won't happen. Looks like isis doesn't care to stoop to that level. This is the danger with an enemy that you could be talking to one minute and have suspicions but society wouldn't dare let you question or search them without probable cause.

Russian invasion into Georgia and USA withdrawal from the missile treaty (so we could build a defense shield) soiled those relations.

Now with a hurt economy, Putin is playing the despot role to garner domestic support against any boogie man. It was 'the west' but now it can be isis... And chechyns again, and anyone else he wants.

The thing is, since we have spent so much time saber rattling between Europe and Russia over Crimea, no telling if we can all agree to work against ISIS.

They're trying to cooperate in Syria now, but putin seems to just be protecting his own interests. They might be able to cooperate if mutual interests would be served but I think it would be a replay of ww2 once everything's settled
