NBC hosts have used the same defense, CNN has had to pay out large compensation settlements for being caught lying. If you want to just ban the media from asking questions I'd disagree with you, but it would be a more honest position than just picking on the ones you don't like.
I think the lead is being buried to be honest. Biden deploys a bunch of troops and the media is told "Don't ask questions about it". That should be extremely concerning to the public. But YOLO, amirite?
