Anything beyond my great-grandparents, there is no records of birth in Ancestry. I don’t know if my sister has them in the giant fucking book at her house. (It’s like 3 6” binders of shit). The only reason their information is probably in ancestry is because they reported it when they came over from Italy.

Grandfather’s Parents
Great-Grandma : Naples, Campania
Great-Grandpa : Naples, Campania

Grandma’s Parents
Great-Grandma : Calabria
Great-Grandpa : Torre Alfina, Lazio

I really wish they could break the Ashkenazi down. I’d love to understand more.

You can submit your dna to a project on Jewish genetics at a reputable university and you’ll get a complete breakdown of your various admixtures, paternal, maternal and autosomal DNA, seems like the only way.

The European population Ashkenazi Jews are most similar to and who we had the most intermingling with are Italian, so you’ll probably end up being 60-70 percent Italian

That's a pretty big chunk of land, do you know more personally?

One thinks of Italy as a long standing nation with a long history, but it ain't so.

When the western Roman empire went belly up around 476, AFAIK what is now Italy wasn't unified up until 1870.

The North was part of the German Holy Roman empire for a long long time, while the south wasn't. And it was and still is heavily influenced by France and Germany later.
Omg shut up everyone knows that

Idk, I’ll look into it. I submitted my DNA to a study that ended up being completely debunked because the guy was trying to fudge the data for a Turkic origin. The results were comical. So you still gotta be careful.

I’m gonna laugh so hard if I’m still more Italian than my sister. I already do because she’s 50% Italian, 49.6% Ashkenazi and I’m 50.9% Italian and 49% Jew.

Are you Italian?
Not really. But Muh spicy meatball!

Most of my European DNA is probably Italian. Italians are the closest European relatives of both Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews. Looks like we went to Rome back in the day and had a big orgy with you guys.
